Dolomitiche- open-air masterpieces
It is a video-documentary project about the history of mountaineering on the Dolomites.
It was designed and curated by Alessandro Beber, mountaineer and alpine guide.
This is episode number 41, the first one about ice climbing, thanks to the support of friends and companies.
Inspired by wine, we can catalog them as “meditation videos”, with a calm rhythm, to enjoy in peace!
The main characters of this episode are the alpinists Giovanni Groaz and Renzo Luzi, who around the end of the 80s have been actual pioneers of ice falls’ climbing on the Dolomites. In Particular, they discovered a little “Eldorado” in Vallunga, lateral to Gardena Valley, where they did more than 20 first climbs between 1988 and 1992.

Parole di Introduzione potenti e vere. Vorrei che si estendesse a quelle poche valli alpine che ancora mantengono quella magia. Una che vuole essere data in mano al turismo banializzante di massa e' la Val di Tovel. Da sempre chiusa in inverno, ora le scellerate amministrazione locale e provinciale stanno pensando di costruire delle infrastrutture per sicurezza stradale per garantire apertura invernale. Queste valli a moo avviso dovrebbero restare come baluardi di una Natura meno umanizzata e permette all' uomo di sentirsi un'po' più piccolo e più profondente connesso con il "selvaggio". Non servirebbe andare in Antartide o Patagonia o Alaska...o perlomeno avremmo delle "palestre"(nicchie) di Wilderness vicino casa. Non per tutti forse ma l'impegno, conoscienza e umilta' necessari per entrare in questi ambienti sono antidoto per uomini sensibili e connessi con il "naturale primordiale reale". Banalizzare(con infrastrutture e auto ovunque) tutto e' altrettanto devastante.
