Hey Makenzie, video idea. You should try to find an old strained glass piece with cracked broken bits and then repair it. That would be super interesting.

@@MakenzieHallieLiebe Makenzie, kannst Du nicht einfach mit einem Hotpot für die Mikrowelle beginnen, Glas zu bemalen und zu brennen? Dieses Teil ist sehr preiswert; unter 80 Euro. You can! Just grab a hole bit! You watched me drill the initial holes with it, just clear the rest of that glass with the hole bit as well! Same thing with the outer edge eyes. 🖤😉
So a regular blade has no breaks in it. Solid hoop. A separating blade has a segment to be seperated, for use in conjunction with hole bits/cutting out the MIDDLE area of a piece of glass
So great as always! I vote for a video on how to make the patterns. When you use a pattern like your jumping spider... Where do you cut the glass in relation to the black outline of the spider you printed? I love that glass on your spider eyes and the "teeth" if that's what are or possibly some spider word I have forgotten! Really cool. Believe it or not... I sent an email to tecniglass saying they should send you their "The Grinder" to review. It was your video that steered me to that choice. It is amazing! Thanks for the videos! Bought the light pad from your links the other day too.
Oh my gosh Danny did you really?! 😂🙈 I appreciate you, that was very kind. I would love to have/review it. BUT after I trace my pattern pieces onto the glass, I cut right inside my sharpie line. And yes, fangs! Or chelicerae. The (chelicerae) are the bright colored fangs kind of hidden behind the fuzzy petipalps (fuzzy on females anyway really) and of coarse jumping spiders.
@@MakenzieHallie Thanks! I am working one my first piece so I can teach my Mom and wife soon! I feel like I am learning fast. But I Think I cut outside the line? I need to watch the tutorial so I can glue those claws like you have on myself! Yes I did! Twice now actually as I included it in an email about something else. Prolly not worth much though they don't know me! It is way nicer than any of the grinders I used in classes we all took. Quiet, super bright. Honestly I would have bought the wizard if I didn't watch your video that night before I was going to drive down and pick it up. Have a good one!
That’s a great pattern and video. You make the technique look effortless. As time went on I found what used to scare me feels so much more natural now and that was scoring and making a successful cut. I use sticky label paper or vinyl for my patterns most of the time depending on the glass. I’m very much looking forward to a Sketchbook video. I’ve had so much trouble trying to teach myself and the few videos I’ve watched moved too quickly. I’m not so technically advanced but once I learn something I can successfully do it. I was always a steps person where I personally wrote the steps one by one and I think just by doing that I became proficient. That’s a hungry little Jumper! Does it take long to feed all the little guys you have? They really are cute. ❤
Ok gotcha, I'll deff make a video on how I make my stencils. I'll go slow and extra detailed as usual. When you use the sticky label paper or vinyl, are those stencils reusable at all? Or am I just focused on them being reusable because I sell? Do you feel like that is an important factor for you? And feeding all the jumpers .....lol. WELL I have gotten better at it. If I don't do any housekeeping for the little little babies, I can get everyone misted and fed in 20 minutes now. At first, it took me HOURS. But then I made changes and I'm going to do an entire video on raising the jumpers.
@@MakenzieHallie oh no I can’t reuse them but when I have made multiple pieces I just made copies on the sticky label paper. I get the full size 8.5 X 11 paper. For me I found I had more accurate cuts and better grinding for a good fit of the piece. I have a goal of trying a Cricut type machine one day to cut my patterns but I know that would be a long and difficult learning curve for me. I’ve seen videos where people are clickety clicking all over the place saying easy peasy and my eyes are crossed trying to follow. I think your way is quicker really as I have to peel off the paper and make sure the glue is all off the glass before I foil but just soaking in warm water for a little while the paper comes right off. It’s not always practical on very textured glass but I’ll then glue opposite on the smooth side to cut if it’s not too opaque or then I do trace that pattern piece on a more see-thru piece of glass. That’s substantial being able to cut feeding the little guys from hours to 20 minutes. You really have created fantastic little homes for them. Can you home more than one spider in a habitat? Maybe I’ll wait for your video. I’m learning so much from them.
@donnaschimek ok noted ALL of that and thank you. So I'll do videos on both. First my normal way, then we will move up to using a circut as well. Agreed so many people fly through the videos without actually teaching any basics on how to navigate the program. It's so much information it gets overwhelming quick, but, I will say like with most things it's just getting in there and clicking around. Trial and error. But I'll do my best to set a good foundation video to get you going on both sketchbook and a cricut/cricut app. And absolutely. Honestly feeding day was a nightmare with the babies at first. But now I've got it down to a science. And short answer is no. Babies from same sac stay together until they start to cannibalize/kill one another. THEN each 68 babies will get there own individual cup from then onto the rest of there lives. Can two adults cohabitate for a short period gearing up for pairing, sure. Otherwise, no. It'll always end in death.
@@MakenzieHallie oh fantastic! I can’t wait for those instructional videos!
Yikes Mother Nature is fascinating. I have too much of a Disney view on life but true nature is perfect in its natural form. ❤️
