- This is a video I made for fun while trying to create a Big L type. I know this is far from being a killer beat, actually I don't really like the result... For this beat I used a Carmel song, a "Strictly Breaks" record and Mic Geronimo: "Masta I.C." acapella. Feel free to comment if you have any suggestions or requests! Thanks for watching!
Introduction beat: • D.E.B. (Unreleased Tra...
For those who wanted to ear that introduction beat: ruclips.net/video/74-q2FZsZ_M/видео.html
+Moms Spagheddi Nah bro I don't really like it lol
The more I watch mpc videos the more I want one. The workflow seems more straightforward than using daws
Yeah I used fl studio before but an mpc is so much better!!
Rill Beats im looking at the akai midi one. Not sure though. I own a midi keyboard so experimenting with recording into the chanels.
So if you're using an MPC, does that mean that you don't need a DAW at all? does the MPC include recording software? or could I just record everything onto Audacity? would like to know since that would save me a shit load of money (I'm interested in producing but haven't started yet). I'm going to use a synthesizer and a MIDI keyboard too, if that affects anything
The Ren need the "MPC Software" other MPCs are only hardware.
Rill Beats Thanks, that cleared things up for me.
that trumpet sound on the background beat is crazzyyyy
This is a nice video. I like the educational side of it. It's very inspirational.

+donniebangout Thanks!
DID STEVIE WONDER FIT THAT CARTRIDGE AND STYLUS
Some people have it like that for scratching so it don't skip.....nevertheless that made me pee a little
Johnny Bagwash- SHURE actually explains this and gives directions on how to position the stylus on an angle of 23-degrees to achieve a more stable needle position thus preventing record skips (Mostly for Scratch DJ's). Your comment was not only ignorant but also rude to the late & great Stevie Wonder.
stevie wonder isn't dead so how can it be the late and great stevie wonder you clown
?
Actually, its good. I would put it in my Soundcloud likes! Good work.

So I am thinking to buy an MPC.
Would like to be analog and stand-alone, to disconnect and just do some music.
But am too lazy to render/bounce things the old school style - recording everything live in your DAW etc.
What do you guys recommend? :))
Please don’t hate on me :)

MODERFUCKING PRO !
i have a same vinyl :D
hey, can you post a video creating cuts and scratches over a beat on the mpc?
i got stanton str8 150's...and i do have tecnichs too...but inever seen in all my 25 yrs of scratchin on vinyl a stylus angled like that...does that work?..not just the screw angle but the tilt too?
jay rizzone when hes sampling it fits the groove better. i scratch and juggle do thats not too ideal for me but sampling its great
sounds like too much weight on the stylus set up causing it to have slow start ups...or maybe cuz its a reloop? idk i never hadmy needle like that or a table like that but hey nice vid
I'd love to know what video cam you were using!
Great sound capturing and dope vid!
Thanks! I used a Canon 600D.
Rill Beats yo! awesome vid. I just got a turntable and a mixer so I can start sampling vinyls. How do you connect your turntable to your audio interface? I can't sample anything from it right now cus I don't know how to connect it to my interface... any help would be great
Michael Lucus Thanks! You'll need cinch input on your interface.
what turntable are you using? couldn't manage to see the logo
cool
ok Je suis à Genève aussi pour mes cours :)
I'm interested in buying the beat
What camera did you use? nice video editing
I used a canon 600d. Appreciate it!
You playing that MPC like it’s a piano.
How you sampling from vinyl? Right in to the mpc ?
Nice. Which turntable is this?
Good work.
This video you make the samples is without computers and software?
Where did you get the bass sound from
Is your turntable connected directly into your mpc? I have the MPC Studio, I want to purchase a usb turntable but not sure if I can record the sound aside from the mic on my macbook. Any hints?
Yes it is but I'm not sure if you can do the same with the Studio...
Ouais pourquoi pas je suis du côté de Carouge. Je sais pas si tu connais la SAE?
is your stylus meant to be at that angle ???
yes!
Why?
I Dj'd for 10 years, but stopped after serato came out... don't understand why you'd want a needle tracking 45degrees off the direction the record is moving in.
It keeps the record in the groove better, which helps for scratching. You can actually buy straight tone arms which accomplish the same thing. The tradeoff is that it wears out your records slightly faster.
Mark Roethke
1 - if you imitate a straight tone arm, its still only 'better aligned' at certain points in the record, not the whole thing. the way tonearms are already designed is to optimize the angle for the whole range (outer angle and inner angle) across a 12" record.
2 - from what i can see of that setup the needle is tracking way off the direction of the groove. its obviously *worse* the way he's got it.
and anything that digs harder into the grooves in your records reduces your sound quality. downward pressure means you're getting less dynamic range from the needle responce. I know this from years of using the old "quarter taped to the cartridge" technique used for very loud clubs. It would prevent your needle from skipping, but it reduced the sensitivity of the bass response.
Scratching is only like a tiny fraction of what any DJ ever does with decks, so it hardly makes any sense to go to absurd contortions to make that sort of change unless you're some battle-DJ engaging in competitions. From what i can tell, this guy doesn't strike me as a beatjuggling wizard.
Anyway, i just think its odd. Back in the late 1990s when i was DJing a lot, "turntablism" was all the rage, and everyone was doing all sorts of similar stuff to get marginally-better performance. What i think is strange is that even then, no one bothered with *this* trick.
did you choose the bpm of the track to make it fit with the rap vinyl track ?
how do i hook my renaissance up to my dj mixer I'm struggling man
0:29 please ?
yoo but were da beat at
Hey what's the name of the beat at the beginning that u made, is it on your channel? It's out cold.
Nah it's not... Perhaps I'll put it on my channel if it's not used!
Ok cool
Only with the computer can I sample with this mpc? If I connect with my technics and my vinyl can I sample like the other mpc s?
Thanks
Yeah there is a cinch input at the back!
Sotiris Nikolaidis so i can just get an akai mpc and hook it up on my mixer ??? never touched an akai mpc and planning on getting my first one. sorry if i sound such a noob. cant hurt to ask right?
Yo man what is that beat at the start with the trumpet?
A beat I made :)
Is Sampling easy on the Renaissance with a DJ Turntable like yours?
Yes! There are RCA/Cinch inputs on it, so actually you just have to press record! It also has a gain and a monitor button to calibrate the entry level...
Rill Hop What's Turn Table do you have ?
Reloop RP-6000 MK6
is a mixer required when your using a turntable for it to go directly to the mpc??
and what chords would i need,i have a mpc studio
Sorry for the late response man... no you don't have to use a mixer! You just need RCA (cinch) cables.
DaRill Beats okay cool,thanks alot!
Heu...jamais haha c'est trop dur ;)
Whats the first track name?
Haha c'est clair que j'ai plus de temps mais faut pas abuser je dois bosser quand même! et avec gta v c'est dur de trouver du temps libre ;)
