    That's a great 'in between' solution between the tweak-hell of high end modelers / profilers and the 'one sound with knobs' approach. The touch interface is great for desktop use, midi is there for live and the sound quality is awesome.. at 399 it is a great deal in my opinion. I already have a ToneX and did my own captures but all this takes a lot of time and the DIY capture quality is not always that good... And the perfect IR hunt is also infinite . With the Ample I would just plug in and get to a few great tones... And play more. ++

    Many if not all of these same amps are in the Poly Beebo as NAM captures. I'd be shocked if these were not those same NAM captures. I don't have my Beebo anymore, but it is an awesome gadget, and this looks like a perfect solution for those interested in just the amp portion. I'd be surprised if over time they didn't make an update so that users can upload NAM captures of their choice as that is possible with the Beebo, and similar to the way they've done the Verbs pedal (which also has sounds the Beebo can do). Poly do really great products, and I think the more specialized effects products like this are a great move. I'd get another Beebo in a heartbeat if they could sort out a few issues I had with it.

  • @onenotesolo256

    Great vid, chaps. You got some of the better sounds out of it versus other YT reviews, especially the lower gain stuff.
    I have one of these on the way - having already had the Verbs for a year, the UI is quite familiar. The tech and modelling / captures have become so commoditised that the differentiator is really the user experience, be it form factor, UI, firmware updates or even availability of third party captures for some units. I like being the option of being able to use two amps with this one - as someone who runs tube amps wet/dry usually, hope dual-amp presets are do-able via MIDI.

I am the target audience, in that I don't have the time to mess around with captures , but the tones in this unit do not seem to hit the mark. I have a Ruby so my bar is set rather high now. Though there are 56 amps, the curated choices leave out a few of my favorites and provide me with lots that I would never use. @@Brati999 Well, I shot an e-mail to Poly Effects just after watching this video…and Loki responded within minutes!!!! Wow, totally impressive how he is there for his (potential) customers!!!! His response was very forthcoming and informative. The Ample is CMOS bypass, which means the signal chain is buffered in order to prevent any treble loss in the signal chain. As such, he wouldn‘t recommend my running my acoustic guitar through the unit, since it will have some impact on my acoustic tone. That said, I‘m so impressed by the pedal that I might rethink my pedalboard routing just to accommodate it. :-))

    Great sounding product, but it's fairly limited for a digital system. At this point, digital devotees expect effects, presets, multiple output options, and a quick and easy parameter changing interface. @stoneysdead689 Месяц назад

      LOL- You must be new to the scene bud- there's nothing at all original, collectible, or new about this pedal. There are already pedals on the market by this maker that use this same touch interface, there are already products like Tone X that allow you to do your own captures or download other ppl's captures, there are countless modelers with this many or more amps in them, there are countless modelers and capture devices that are so intuitive and simple you don't need any instructions or help to use them, and this device doesn't even allow you to load IRs or have any FX in it- there are plenty of devices that do everything it does plus add both of those features- for about the same money, or less. And don't be impressed with Pete or Capt. complimenting it- they did the same thing with the UAFX Lion- and a few months later in a blind fold contest- they said the exact same pedal sounded "broken" to them. Really you don't know what they actually think of a product until it appears in a video where it's not the focus- then you get the truth about it. I'm not putting them down for that- it's totally understandable- that's their job- but I do try and remember that when I'm watching their videos.

    i know i ask this question a lot these days..but i'm totally blind so could i use this? or is it all touch screen so i'd be stuck? i like knobs and buttons and this sounds like screen only

      @vhcxhbvg Месяц назад +1

      I got you. It's touch capacity so you'd maybe have to put bumps on it but then you'd have to remember where the light indicator for each parameter would be

    Why don't you use the gain control and the built-in boost, that way the test is only half as good. 🤦🏻‍♂️

      Turn the speaker IRs off on the pedal and plug it into the power amp in on the amp, and you should be golden.
