I've been waiting for this episode for a long time. I remember watching it back in 1993 and thinking that Stephanie was incredibly cruel. What a scene! The stage is set for Brooke's (very understandable) revenge.

Stephanie keeps forgetting Eric was cheating on her before Brooke came into the picture. And he did not turn to Stephanie after Brooke set him free.
Don't forget that Brooke guarded that secret with her mother, just as she and Thorne guarded the secret of the letter Ridge wrote in an effort to win back Caroline. She cleared the path for those events to unfold as SHE wished, and she continued to encourage her mother towards an adulterous relationship with Eric. Brooke getting involved with Eric was double whammy to Stephanie.

But people say revenge doesn’t make you feel better! Not necessarily true I love knowing this slob that took advantage of my kindness to even give him my number when I didn’t even find him attractive and most certainly is not my type body wise! Stephanie was just as cruel as this slob was to me.

This is why I would’ve preferred a triangle to be between Stephanie, Eric, and Brooke. Because those two women sparring over the years, was way more interesting than a triangle between Brooke, Ridge and Taylor ever was.

@@angelscorpio5485 Yes sometimes it looks and sounds so different. I have no idea why they do it, I will assume it has to do with editing? It might be easier to reshoot a short scene for them, other than using the short scene of the previous episode and blend it in the new one. But I don't know for sure, just assuming.

Instead of reshooting (it can look so different that the actors transmit a total different feeling to the viewer)
@@angelscorpio5485 Maybe it is also what @donkeygospel6 says and it has to do with lighting as well, If the previous episode showed Brooke's condo as darker, and this one lighter, if they used the previous episode scene, it would be noticeable as a "picture".
I think if they do so many reshoots for the beginning of the episodes, at least they should say things the same way.
Sometimes I notice that they even say different things lol.

Though the Kicking Brooke scene is one of the best in the show's history, Stephanie's logic is kinda weird. At the same time she's accusing Brooke of being immoral, conniving, manipulative and "opportoonistic", she's also saying that the wise thing would have been to keep BeLieF for herself, because then she could have had millions and controlled everyone. In essence, saying Brooke should have pulled the most conniving power move of all. I'll go a step further: Stephanie is actually coaching or grooming Brooke for how to go about sticking it to the Forresters.
Brooke is a slow learner, she will need a 3rd chance to follow Stephanie's advice, but she'll get there.

Stephanie loved rubbing it in Brooke's face and I'm here for it! Too bad though Brooke gets her revenge soon and their feud escalates even more. This is very similar to the scene from 2001 when Brooke was chasing after Ridge again and thought he'd leave Taylor for her, which he didn't. Then Stephanie came over to happily rub it in her face. 😆

I love what they did with Brooke’s hair. With Ridge it was shiny, silky, bouncy and vibrant……by the time Stephanie gets there it’s just hanging off her head. 🤣🤣🤣
And her smudged eye makeup... The stylists and make up artists did a great job of making Brooke look unglued, very believable 👏

*THE STORYTELLING PURPOSE OF STEPHANIE'S GLOATING*
Stephanie gloating before her downfall serves three storytelling purposes:
1) Hubris is a Classic storytelling trope that presages a downfall and Stephanie's hubristic performance here presages the Fall of the House of Forrester. It makes it so that the Forresters deserve what's coming to them. And Brooke's Shakespeare reference -- "What happened to that milk of human kindness?" -- signals that we are in the realm of the Classics. (This is a quote from Lady Macbeth, a great character comparison for Stephanie)
2) Brooke is made more sympathetic here, not pushing back and just wallowing in misery as Stephanie gleefully taunts her, which will make her eventual takeover of Forrester Creations seem justified. Just as Taylor "earned" Ridge through her suffering over the last few episodes, Brooke is earning her revenge by enduring Stephanie's tirade. While I find Brooke less sympathetic in her romantic storylines (where she is often delusional and desperate), I've always found her more relatable in the social striver role, in storylines about class and status, where she is an underdog you can root for.
3) Finally, I've mentioned before that Stephanie is like an avatar of Taylor's ID, the inner-self that Taylor tries to repress so she can remain The Good Girl. Taylor would never come over and gloat over Brooke's defeat like this which of course leaves that rivalry a bit wanting because you need scenes like that on a soap. So instead Stephanie comes over and does it for her.
I hope Brooke gets revenge because what Stephanie did was very very cruel

Thing is, Brooke was always forgiving to Stephanie eventually, no matter what atrocities she inflicted on her, not only towards the end but during the course of the show. Because for some reason she wanted her acceptance. And in some twisted way, she saw her as a mother. And it is so ironic that Brooke seemed to be the one who was mostly devastated by her death.

How could Ridge do this, and Karen, what kind of best friend is she? I didn't like Brooke's character but this is waaaay beyond cruel. Especially from Ridge. Stephanie never liked Brooke so it's not hard for her to gloat.

Now that i am seeing the episode, still Brooke shouldn't have cared about the Belief control, since she always assumed that she worked for Forrester and never ever questioned that control. The only thing that matters now is revenge against Stephanie's insults...but she ends up hurting Ridge and Eric as well...but i guess Eric deserves her revenge as well for using Steve like he used him
Exactly! Now it's revenge against Stephanie's insults, Eric deserves it too, and Ridge deserves it too, for not explaining to her what she was signing away. He tried, but he knew Brooke's mind was elsewhere so he should have insisted because it is serious. Either way Brooke would have signed . And him giving that contract to Brooke before telling her he was not going to be with her (even if he had explained what it was about), is also quite sneaky. And that is why he deserves it too. And that is why Brooke is insulted by him not trusting her.
They managed to create a "monster", out of a Brooke who always assumed she created Belief for them, never had a second thought about it,

I'm surprised that just before walking out the door, that Stephanie didn't say to Brooke that she gonna tell Ridge to try and get full- custody of Bridget. So he and Taylor will can be Bridget parents. And tell her that Taylor will beca better mother to Bridget than she will be.
Stephanie could've just left it alone. The contract flew right over Brooke's head. She would've been none the wiser. But Steph couldn't help herself. She just had to stick it to Brooke. Now Brooke's a loose cannon.

I’ve been trying to process that too. The timing of it felt so rushed and contrived. The Bells have always been THEE WORST at maintaining integrity of romantic relationships, IMO. Nikki & Victor have done so much that no one can really take them serious as a couple or even care anymore.
