31 bucks... heck of a deal on all those! the hammers are cool.. and the craftsman vise is worth what you paid for the whole lot..to me.. :-) Great Haul!
Good stuff man! You got some nice hammers in this one. I want to find some more vintage hammers in good shape. Hammers are one of those tools that are always super beat up when you find them. Love that big pipe cutter too.
The first three planes, especially the 3rd are good ones. The Stanley #5 is also good. However, it's the #4 & #2 that are sought after. You can age your Stanley planes to find out what type they are. That will tell you the age. Your #5 was probably made around 1950.
If the wood handles are in good condition but lightly loose, just dip them in linseed oil because they are dry. The wood will suck it up and expand the wood, making a tight fit. If not, you can install a small wedge. Sanding them first, is ideal.
I'd like to know too, all the ones I can see advertised online around me seem to be just furniture, and the mythical yard and garage sales are just baby clothes and golf bags
AuctionNinja.com From what I can see it’s mainly NYC/New England and a few other areas so maybe won’t work for you. There’s also estateauctions.net or something like that but the site is a mess. You can also check in with your local auction or consignment shop, they often either organize or host estate sales
The first three planes and the number 5 are all winners. The long handle crowbar may be a tire spoon/tool. The no name plane may be a Sargent. You can often find the name of the plane maker on the blade.
I've owned a Valco sealant tube squeezer (2 pc) for over 30 yrs, and none of the young techs have ever seen one. It only serves one purpose, to get every drop of sealant out of a (tooth paste size) tube. Easier on my (now old) hands too.
That’s the Millers Falls scraper looking thing? Very cool. I can see how something like that could be very useful rather than just squeezing the tubes by hand. Thanks!
This is a complete home run. You got $400-$500 worth of tools for ridiculously dirt cheap. The hand planes for $25 is a steal. You need to go to church and confess your sins…. Any one of those hand planes is worth $25. The little planes are called block planes, the Stanley #5 is worth close to $100 in its current condition..
Thank you! It really was a gold mine, and you should have seen the lots that I passed up on- it was from an electrician/plumber retiree- probably a 1,000 Sq ft basement packet to the rafters with tools! Not all estate sales are like this, but every once in a while you hit the jackpot!
The crimper tools are for coaxial cable connectors. Some lineman pliers are made with the wire stripper notch. OR the guy cut too many hot wires and arced them.
I’m hindsight I think they were from cutting live wires. Some of them were small enough that they seemed to be done with a tool but a lot of them you could tell he arc’d it
Hey Jack, great haul all around! Sorry it took me so long to get over to your channel. I will be binge watching.
I appreciate it Mr Rob, I know you’ve been busy lately. Hope that nice southwest weather is treating you well!

Thank you sir! They aren’t always good, but this one was!

Thanks dude! Yeah I’ve gotten a few beaters before- was nice to get some good user hammers with this one
Morning Mr. Patrick, The little hand vise is cool.. - the MF, i'd say is a paint scrapper - I hadnt seen one like that before.. cool..
All i know is for 25 i would would had bought them the box of plains as well... good haul Mr. Patrick! thanks for sharing!
I’ve got much to learn in regards to planes- turns out the smaller of the lot were the more valuable. Thanks BV!
Nice hauls. I would say that ball peen is a blackhawk. Those utica nippers will be nice cleaned up. Keep up the good work!
Yes, a little dunk in the Evaporust and some wire wheel action and they will be good to go! Thanks for watching
A old guys opinion, that is a pretty awesome haul, that will keep you busy for a while, Looking forward to some of the cleanup tools,
Thanks! The big Channellocks and the tiny hand vise are in the Evaporust as we speak

Thanks for the info! I’m interested in learning more about planes and growing my collection
@@jackof1 if you really want to, you will.
6:07 Sweet plier spin 👍
Haha thank you sir
I believe those are coax crimpers
Nice too haul! Take some Murphys oil soap, with a damp Terri cloth rag & those screw driver handles will clean up nicely.
Thanks!

That tool is a hand pipe thread tool its used to cut threads on steel and black pipe
That makes sense! Thanks for watching
Your Stanley plane is probably a Millers Falls make
26:05 Awesome 3 diamond Utica!
👍
15:00 Millers Falls Floor Scraper.
How do you find these estate sales?

@@jackof1 well I'm right between NYC and New England so I'll check it out, thanks

That snap on hammer and screwdriver should still be warranty. Have bought snap on tools in bad shape like those and my Snap on guy warranty them.
Nice hall

Tool Rule #1: You can never have too many tools.
Tool Rule #2: There is a lot more tools to find.
💯And we can’t let all these old tools just get orphaned- we must adopt them all!!!
