Update: Ben Askren in fact retired after the Demian Maia fight. Ben also needs hip replacement. No excuses on his part for his losses. Ben stated he just wasn't good enough to beat Jorge or Demian.
Still makes me chuckle the whole Wandy was undersized thing. He weighed more than Cro Cop for that fight lol. Undersized for the whole tournament maybe, but he wasn't the light guy in the ring on that day. Nor did he appear to be carrying much fat or water weight. He was pretty damn lean.

Not really. The main issue with Ben Askren is that his non-existent skills were glorified by the likes of Joe Rogan. Ben is a specialist, with a very, very narrow skillset. He is not an elite fighter. An elite fighter can beat everybody on any given night. He cannot. He has always been the same level of predictable and that was abused by the UFC's welterweights. I think because at the time it was more important for the UFC to build a division around her and get a name in peoples mouths than to try and push female fighting into the mainstream with no household name. The way it played out was perfect, WWE couldn't have written a better or more engaging story. An unbeatable force stopped so suddenly and sent into a tailspin only to try and regain their stature, all while wondering who can top the woman that beat the Goliath
One major flaw. Hendo went out on top. He went out challenging for a title and it's debatable that he won that fight.
I immediately thought of Dillishaw, not Askren
Chuck LyDown and Jon Jones
Dillashaw was actually about it tho and fucked garbrandy up
Right me too I thought the choice of thumbnail was wierd as well
Crazy how so many of them were undefeated and could never recover when they finally lost just once.
Mma on point the best channel in RUclips ❤❤
Kiss ass
@FekkinGoober I didnt but think what you what
@FekkinGoober what do you mean?
At least everybody had that sweet Reebok gear to get them through the hardships.
Tony Ferguson 2020 😪😪😪
to be fair PRIDE and the UFC were 2 different beasts back in the day especially since the rules in pride were crazy.
In the end Rhonda deserves a lot of credit she really put woman’s MMA on the map she had a great run but there is shelf life in this sport .
Marc Scordato it just reminds me of Royce Gracie getting smoked once the better athletes started doing mma and the competition went way up.
Daniel Grinnell Amanda was in the UFC the same year as Ronda.Ronda didn’t evolve while Amanda did evolve.Amanda’s response after a loss: change camps. Ronda’s response after a loss:does a photo shoot with Ashley Graham
Dwayne "The Roid" Johnson
Dwayne "The Hemi" "Roid" Johnson
So what? Who gives a shit? No one cares if the Rock is on steroids, he’s 100% on TRT he’s like 50 and if he’s on anything else who cares? Really who fucking cares?
@@mikebb1000 you care too much about not caring
What about McTapper?
Considering hes made millions and is still one of the main faces of the ufc I dont think hed be on this list 😂
He didnt really have a bad year, he lost to khabib (like everyone so far) and made millions
Not really. Lost in March of 2016 to Diaz, then avenged the loss in August and in November was fighting and beating Alvarez decisively. 2016 was a pretty good year for McTapper.
2018 was kind of bad for him, but a loss to Khabib happens to anyone, he wasn't radio silent like Ronda was, the MMA game didn't evolve past him, and when he finally returned (only to take yet another year off after taking zero damage) he looked like the best Conor against Cowboy. If you mean 2017 or 2019 that he was inactive or 2018 that his only fight was a loss, those years didn't affect him as much as 2016's Ronda
Where is mctapper?
Stuff like this is why I fear for Khabib's career when he finally loses.
He only has 2-3 fights left and he will problaby retire after his first loss if its ever happens.
@@brookinghouseof9457 You realize there are other fighters that you can watch, right? Khabib fights maybe three times a year. There are whole divisions with huge stars that you can be watching in the meantime.
@@augustusmaximus11 SIKE
Well, this comment aged like rancid milk.
BJ penn had some pretty bad years
Think he's not on the list because he had so many in a row idk
Like all of them.
is having some.......
@blacksixspeed whose number one
Man I was hoping askren woulda steamrolled to the belt. He's a great personality though.
I hope he keeps fighting
I was hoping the same thing mate .Watching his fights and trash talk in bellator but 😰
Ben is an unbearable tool, y'all have horrible taste in personalities
Alex Clark Lol he's a great promoter with a record to back it up. Father time got him and a hip replacement. He's smart to call it off. I bet he'd beat ur ass to a pulp lol
It always bothered me that Rousey’s finisher caused multiple opponents to need surgery. Having had multiple injuries including rotator cuff tear you are never 100% even with surgery and physical therapy.
It's a legal hold and it's her specialty. She always let go to a tap. Not sure what the issue is.
You wouldn't like my boy Frank Mir then ...
Don’t you mean the 2006 open weight tournament when Wanderlei got knocked out by cro cop not the heavyweight tournament. He was only in it to sub for a injured Fedor
Anderson's 2013 would have been a good addition.
A bad year, yeah yeah... How about a bad decade? *cough* BJ Penn *cough*
Good video idea!👏🏽👍🏽
Thanks MMAOP!!🤘🏽
You guys have become my #1 on RUclips for MMA
I hear Tommy's voice. I click like immensely quick
“Top 1 worst MMA trade: Ben for Mighty Mouse”
I feel Bad for Fedor
always be the goat for me
His record and list of opponents during his prime, will be unmatched and unduplicated. Definitely a heavyweight GOAT in MMA history.
Same
@Alex Amaya
Fedor fought ludicrous sized opponents. The crazy weight disparities wouldn't occur today.
Fedor's record of opponents is secure.
@Alex Amaya
It's not going to happen in America, with the athletic commissions and their official weight classes. For now, Fedor's record stands.
The more I think about it, the more shocking Rousey's total decline is. A gigantic star who just could. not. handle. losing. It led to her washing out way, way too soon in MMA and then in pro wrestling.
I don’t remember Wheaties being “sugary” though. 😂
Fergy Toneson I was thinking the same thing! Lol
9g of sugar per serving. That's tame compared to most cereals and literally any candy or soda.
@@coryfusting9294 and that includes milk, which contains sugar
@@jasoncottier About 12 grams if you add only a cup of skim milk. But it's likely if you're eating Wheaties one would be adding bananas or berries of some sort. Even then that would still be slightly less or equal to a single soda I'd imagine.
The good thing about Hendo is that he had his career downfall like most fighters do, but i don't naturally remember that about him, when you have a highlight reel like he does, it's easy to forget he ever lost a bunch, he's remembered for his wins. Not all fighters get that luxury.
Who is here after the retirement of Ben Aspirin
Crazy how Jorge went from an example of things going right to things going wrong so quick. He'd be near the top of this list now.
mma on point keeps mispelling top 10 houses sold by al iaquinta
fun fact! henderson and chael engineered that whole infamous event that got canceled to get chael a fight with jones. hendo never had intended to fight jones that event and they were tailoring chael for jones
dan was injured well in advance and chael just happened to offer up as a replacement
Honestly Fedor's bad year came when his prime was pretty much over
Max Cole agreed. Any purist knows Fedor is the greatest ever to do it.
That's kind of the common theme amongst every one of them...
Was overall impressed with narration and video content my only issue is with your comment in regards to the cereal Weatees it definitely is not sugary other than that keep up the good work!
Wheaties maybe has 5g of sugar bro
When talking about TRT Belfort also mention it was against a TRT Henderson
God damn the Sao Paolo card last night was boring as all hell.
Your right. It was so boring I regretted streaming it
2:26 Jesus Christ the difference in size between Hendricks and Costa
This should be called “worst ears” by looking at that photo
That rousey good will was waning long before the loss. She was always abrasive, but got away with it due to her dominance. Refusing to shake miesha tate's hand is where it really changed though.
Ben has always been a good fighter but never elite.
Joe Rogan hyping up a talented grappler to be an elite fighter who then got found out once given tpo tier opposition???? Never heard of that happening before
Ronda took the biggest plunge in mma history.
The biggest plunge, from the biggest media hype for MMA's first big female superstar. She was the female Mike Tyson of MMA, with fast dominant finishes.
@@TheScotchaholic yhea world wide she was even bigger than connor......but the bigger they are the harder they fall.
@@frankiecal3186
Her classlessness, abrasive attitude, and whining after her 1st loss, were the added factors in people wanting to see her fall. It's the same thing with Conor and Mayweather Jr. Unfortunately, Mayweather didn't get to join Ronda and Conor.
What about Renan Barao? Rock hold or Weidman?
Same I think
@@mauriciotorrado796 They don't have 1 bad year, they have 3-4 bad years in a row till now.
