seriously wouldn't mind hitting the Like button 380+ times, the biggest TY for this project. Dayna Stephens sound is so beautiful. caught him live last year and had to buy more albums ❲Bandcamp/digital❳.

What an amazing video and a great list! Maybe make this a yearly thing now :) ?
Here are are some of my favorites from 2020:
    Tivon Pennicott - Spirit Garden
Jussi Lehtonen Quartet - Connection, I'm from Finland so some finnish jazz :)
    Giveton Gelin - True Design
PYJÆN - Sage Secrets EP (Not sure if you define this as clean jazz but it is amazing nonetheless, although I think their debut album is even more stunning.)

Thanks Jasper. Just picked up the Immanuel Wilkins album yesterday. You have given me several more to check out! Also great in 2020 for me: Maria Schreider's Data Lords, Susan Alcorn's Pedernal, Eric Revis' Slipknots through a Looking Glass, Matthew Shipp Trio's The Unidentifiable, and James Brandon Lewis' Molecular. Cheers from Dakar, Senegal!

GREAT LIST! a question…. What are the best ways to stay up to date with h great new jazz releases? … when I was young it was mostly word of mouth…. But now most of the older musicians I hang with do not have the same hunger for new great stuff…. So how does everyone stay tuned in?…. Thanks

thanks for the list! I've been bopping back and forth between housing situations here in WA and driving a lot, and starved for more material to listen to. Now I have more ear ammo for the drives.

    Awesome Video, Jasper!
Thanks for putting in the work! A bunch of those videos from the final list I haven't listened to yet, but after seeing this I'll make sure to explore those as well.
    Hope you're doing great!

Loved the video! Is there anyway we can see the list of all the albums you checked out? Thanks for making this. Would love to hear your favorite guitar forward jazz albums of 2020 as well!

The list if albums is from the jazz times reader’s poll. Its likely on google somewhere! For guitar I’d recommend -
      - Max Light - herplusme
      - Bill Frisell - Americana
      - Dekel Bor - let love rule

I haven't heard Let Love Rule, I'll check that out, thanks! I looked for the list can't seem to find it. Was it 300+ long?

Hello, i am looking for a track/ album for several years now, maybe you have any idea, thank you for any help in advance. THis is the info i can provide: i heard the track before 2018. Style is contemporary (i would say say, the record is from at least the 90s, maybe even from 2000-2017). Now the track starts with a single note on an electric piano. the key is stroke a few times, each time a little hard. Then the piano plays an intro. After the, a larger (4?5?6? players) horn section comes in playing tutti. it's not a slow track, it's quite forward, but as said, rather modern. it's not acid jazz, not funk or similar, rather like modern UK style or french or german like Nils Wogram, but it also could be an anthem international record ( though it does not sound like "tribal style conscious jazz). Do you maybe have any idea? i guess there are not too many tracks, that start with that repeated not on one key on an electric piano. thank you so much!
