I wish I could like this video a thousand times over. Thank you for covering this, and the way you covered it, more than anything - it's becoming so rare to find this kind of delightful content on RUclips! ^ ^
I got so confused trying to play this, I had no idea what I was doing at the academy and just got lost walking around. Its interesting to see how this was apparently a lot deeper than I thought!
I somehow had this game as a kid and couldn't get anywhere on it. I didn't know what I was doing and there was no internet. Maybe I'll revisit it on my steam deck.
Yeah it's still very hard. Def having the hint guide helped a lot. There's also a playthrough on RUclips by Bezlonir that I watched a few times when I couldn't find a specific item that was really helpful. Hope you enjoy the revisit!
Rings of Power is the most underrated and overlooked RPG ever. The only time the game gets attention is when someone talks about its easter eggs. It's a shame because the game itself is so good. It's also incredibly vast and has much more content and features than the manual tell you about. The game may not have aged well, and sure, one can complain about the low frame rate, but it's still worth playing. I played through it back in the day without cheats, and it took almost a year. Greenmaze still gives me chills; it was so hard. Love the game!
4:15 -- the opening sequence of Kojima's "Death Stranding" is about carrying your mother's corpse on your back to the remote place where she can be cremated
Programming and testing that is crazy. All of these parts of the game had to be almost made 100% by hand. No procedural generators or high end mapping tools. Every sprite hand drawn, every tree placed by hand.. and it was tested.. sooooo thoroughly tested.
The world map is procedurally generated with points of interest and cities placed after the generation. At some point the game can crash randomly and you receive a message "Void army killed your party while you were asleep, nothing you can do about it, restore your save" - this was happening even during the battle.
I remember playing this when I was just a kid. This is the first engrossing game I played which made me forget to sleep. I literally played continously until the morning sun was up. 😛
The only other time I've heard about this game was in an issue of Game Informer that mentioned the naked title screen code in their issue about BMX XXX and DoA Extreme Beach Volleyball.
So there’s a code to get a Naked girl during the naughty dog logo “To get an alternate Naughty Dog Games logo during the opening splash sequence, before you turn on your Genesis hold down A + B + C + Down-Right + Start on controller 2, then turn your power on.”
I'm glad you enjoyed Rogue Agent! I still remember the way it was pitched to me before I joined- a James Bond game with the art director/story creator of Silent Hill 2. I had just finished SH2 not so long ago and I was super excited about it! It was a fun team to be part of.

I mentioned this game in a comment to you a few weeks ago. Cool! I really liked this game even though the interface is terrible and the difficulty is ridiculous. Its the only game Ive ever seen where different places have different economies, so you can make trade routes to farm money instead of endless battles. And having a party of purely specialist mages is so cool.
@@TieryasXu Its games like this and Ultima IV that should be totally overhauled and remastered. They are so freaking awesome but so damned by the hardware. There is a SNES Shadowrun mod for the PC Shadowrun Dragonfall game. They did a great job! Kind of glitchy and no animations for some things, but its no biggie. I started playing Phantasy Star Generations, and boy, are the graphics, interface, and ease of controls welcome. Its not choppy moving through the mazes so I can navigate easily without maps.
