I'm going to get flack from this comment but here goes, this is the reason I don't like camera men or trying to film hunts, some one always moves at the wrong time or is not totally camouflaged or standing out in the open. Great footage but very heartbreaking to be this close and not get the shot, that's hunting though. These animals are just like a 1,000 pound turkey, they know where the calling comes from within a few feet! Being still, having patience and good concealment is a must.
Great job getting him to come in. Everything you did must have been perfect. The Lord grew the brush too tall and it wasn’t meant to be. Wish I were there to witness that monster.
Would have been a new archery State record. Shooter should always be 40 plus yards ahead of the caller. Bulls can pin point exactly where the calls are coming from. When they get within range of the call if they don’t see an elk they won’t get closer shooter always needs to be 40 yards minimum out front.
Would’ve been a mid 350s bull, my friend found that bulls set of sheds and we taped it at just shy of 330 and he completely busted off the sword on the side with the flyer.
Seems pretty light for an 8x8 but still a pretty incredible bull. This last season on my tag I glassed up a bull on the other side of a canyon that was 300 plus bull 6x7 but that side of the canyon was a different unit so all I could is watch. Some big studs out there
I was the shooter and my angle and the camera guys was different. I had the perfect shooting lane if he took 2 more steps past the bush but as anyone who elk hunts knows, it rarely works out the way you want it to.

You guys did everything right he’s just a smart old bull who is not going to be tricked into coming in without a lot of effort and extra work 🙌
That was a nice bull! I can remembere being less than 5 yards from a monster bull and couldn't get a shot either.
What an amazing bull!
Most won’t ever even see a bull that big….that’s a trophy alone!!
your caller needs to be down in the grass behind 20 yards and wearing that cow call out. great bull
fantastic experience, lot of arm chair quarterbacks on here. Well done
Appreciate it, there always are!
8x10? That area, and the region around Crescent grows a lot of trophy bulls.
Fantastic…you did the right thing…that bull will stay in your mind without the video…..what a rack
That’s a beast!

Thanks. I cut the video short of some back and forth. We saw him a couple more times the next couple days but never in bow range.
