If you are planning a visit to Bali, be sure to add Komodo National Park to your plans. We enjoyed both islands and want to show you what to do and where to go when visiting. John and Bev retirementtravelers.com/
Hello John and Bev! We're following in your footsteps! We just became global nomads and y'all's content helped us sooooo much as we prepared for this new season of our lives. We are travelling in Bali now as well! We've been here many times and even lived in Indonesia for 4 years, but we're wanting to experience more of Bali this time. We're staying in Sanur, Amed, and Lovina. Thanks for all the wonderful content you produce! Maybe we'll have the privilege of bumping into y'all one of these days. We're just starting! - Duane and Melanie
That's awesome. Great to hear about your plans. Please stay in touch and we would love to cross paths someday. Safe travels and many blessings, John and Bev retirementtravelers.com/
We just left both islands - did a stop in Lombok too. Indonesia has such diversity and every island really is different. Thanks for a great video about a beautiful part of the world.
Thanks. So happy for you guys to get to go to Raja Ampat. You will love it and hope our video helps. You have to work a little to get there, but it is amazing, especially for divers. Hope all is well in New Zealand! Safe travels and many blessings, John and Bev
Bev was there about 10 years ago and it was in better shape. It was nice, but showing some signs of wear. We think there are probably better options in the area. John and Bev retirementtravelers.com/
You’re trip looks absolutely amazing, such beautiful places. That’s another country on our bucket list. Thank you for uploading informative videos, we love watching you guys.
We had a lovely time in Komodo National Park! The scuba diving was absolutely the best The most memorable experience was our walking hiking tour seeing dear and water buffalo etc then, the best part the young guide got lost so much fun (now). I loved it
We visited Komodo Island a few years back whilst on a Princess cruise, it looks like the place has taken on a fair bit of development since we were there. We have the same type of photo taken by our guide for the visit. Were you told the story about a French wildlife photographer who didn't follow the protocols about always having a guide with you? They say he went out in the evening to take some dragon pics, unaccompanied, he mysteriously disappeared, only some of his equipment was found next morning.
We LOVED Komodo Dragon Islands! We chose to do a live aboard for 2 nights. We were able to get to the islands before most people. Sadly, Bali has become overcrowded. Ubud was beautiful! We lived in Penang Malaysia from 2012-2017. Please visit there!!!!
Loved it. I've been to Indonesia quite a few times for work but not yet to Bali or Komodo Is. By the way, only Bali is Hindu and most Indonesians are Muslims. Would you say one can do a three-month stay (that you talked about in another video) in Bali, at a cost comparable with Nicaragua/Ecuador (except for the flight) or would it be more like Costa Rica?
We realized the country is mostly Islamic after posting, so we added that to the description below the video. We hate it when we get an important detail wrong. Thanks for pointing it out. About the cost, we believe it’s more like Nicaragua and Ecuador. We understand people can stay for very little, depending on the location. Our recommendation is to go to ALL of them!😉 John & Bev www.retirementtravelers.com
@@RetirementTravelers Thank you for your optimism (about going to all the ones you indicated) but I'm not in good health. In addition, I've already been to over 50 countries (for short periods, with some like Ecuador multiple times). But the whole of Central America I haven't been to and I can speak Spanish. Consequently, I found your proposal intriguing. Thank you.
I saw the Tirta Empul Temple in another video and wondered why everyone was in the green outfits. Very interesting. Loved the sites on this trip. Thanks for sharing ❤
Keep Calm and Komodo On! Indonesia looks like Hawaii without the over-commercialization, overcrowding and overpricing. Cannot wait for your next SE Asia video.
I think I am going to stop watching you guys - you are killing me - that video has got all my travel juices going. We still have not sold the house AND its winter here arrrgh. Anyway, looks like you guys are having an absolute blast - enjoy.
Thanks so much. Keep watching for therapy 😉 and we hope you can get out there on the road soon. And yes we are having a blast. Safe travels and many blessings, John and Bev retirementtravelers.com/
I live in Indonesia but never go to Komodo Island because it's too far away from my city in Sumatera Island and cost much money. But I ever went to Bali in 2011.
John, have you ever made a video on how you handle the logistic of traveling to different countries all the time and getting entry with little problems and issues. I am a little dumb in this area. My overseas travel was arranged by the military. We got on a big airplane and we landed on an Air Base in the country we went too. Would you share how you are able to keep traveling switching countries without delay on getting entry into all the different countries.
Sometimes it can get complicated but for the most part, we Google the answers we need about visa requirements for each country. When we plan a trip, we use a spreadsheet to keep track of our details. Thanks for watching and hopefully we can share our method soon. Thanks for your service to our country!!! John www.retirementtravelers.com
