This time based decision assumes things play out the same as in the past. Was it Dec 2020 or 2021 ? when there was all of this hype about a parabolic rise coming and it never showed up. So with the whole institutions like black rock being in the game now, just makes me wonder if the patterns get mixed up. And you never know what regulators can do to squash things and the impacts. I'm sure if things are drastically different by then you would call it at the time in the event the exit criteria needs to be modified. But good to know that if patterns are followed, late 2025 would be the latest end to the cycle.
Pattern might be different but market is going to go parabolic for sure.

True, but you have to have an end goal. If you never sell what is the point endlessly watching the value go up and down. Then hoping for mass adoption to spend it or borrow against it is an even bigger risk when it crashes unless you are a company that owns the btc on its balance sheet and then offsets losses against profits to reduce corporate taxes!

Your cost basis will be much higher when you buy back Bitcoin, losing out on compound growth. Traders always underperform long term investors.
Definitely not true - cycle and swing traders will outperform hodlers if they know the market - there is no compound interest - you sell in the mania and wait for the downturn and buyback cheaper then when you sold simple as that
