Let me tell you a little backstory if you’re lost...
Chara is not evil, actually if it wasn’t for her monsters would still be in the underground and Flowey wouldn’t be Asriel.In the “Pie accident” were Chara and Asriel wanted to make Asgore a pie they added golden flowers to see if it would make a nice flavour to it,But turned out that the flower was poisonous and Asgore got sick and almost died.In that situation Chara laughed,but it wasn’t because she liked seeing people suffer its because theres a frase that says: “Laugh the pain out”,that’s what Chara did in that situation.Chara loved the Dremurrs and all monsters,and she wanted them to be free,so she had the idea to eat the flowers and die for Asriel to then take her soul, go to the surface get the human souls and free everybody.Asriel was sad but was forced to do it.Chara died and Asriel went to the surface with Chara on his arms.He wanted to bury Chara there,but when humans saw him they thought he killed Chara and in less than one minute...killed him,But Asriel didn’t die , somehow he came back to life but as a flower. Then Frisk fell,with Their determination Chara woke up but as a ghost,and a little something you may or may not know is when you die in Undertale the one saying “ Stay Determined...please” is actually Asgore when Chara was dying
