when it's a still image it's a little understandable how you can see both, but watching the video proves they're facing the camera because we know that people extend their legs and retract them depending on if they're going forwards or not on a swing. And many other things make it clear.

I simply looked at the hair or scarf it was.. Physics dont lie. Swinging towards camera.

  • @LotsOfS
    @LotsOfS 3 месяца назад +207

Based on the angle of the basketball hoops and trees, and the swing set being a double bar and not a triple bar, the particular swing she's operating is the northernmost chair of the southernmost swingset on the yard.
This swingset is angled such a way that its northside is further from the school than its southside. The camera is looking at the swing from roughly the east-northeast.
Therefore, on a swing towards the (mostly) west, from our perspective the person would be going right, and an (mostly) eastward swing would be left from our perspective. On the video, the girl when swinging forward is moving left, thus she is facing east. East = away from the school & towards the camera. There's a roughly 30 degree angle difference between the direction she's facing, and the direction we're looking from).
This conclusion could also have been reached by simply pausing the video at 0:19 and looking at the lighting on the crossbar...

It doesn't need all that analysis. Obviously you bend your legs towards yourself when swinging backwards. It is clear that the legs are going backwards towards the building. Meaning she would have to be facing towards the camera. That's all that really needs to be pointed out

I went to the school on google maps, based on the perspective it has to be the southernmost swing set (there's 4 swing sets at that playground). The block thing to the left of the frame is the playground lot that looks like the school might turn it into an ice rink in the winter or something. Therefore the video is being taken from the backyard of one of the houses directly east of the school. Lining all that up shows that it's the southernmost swing set which has a slight angle clockwise if you're looking top down. The person on the swing is being swung perpendicular to the swing set angle, and the only way that would make sense is if the person was being swung TOWARD the camera.

As someone who can force myself to see them swinging in either direction, they're DEFINITELY facing the camera lol. And as Rainbolt said you really don't get much more info out of finding the swings location/mapview or anything. Just look at the empty swingseats next to the person, they're dual colored as you can see the under side of the swing on the right. which tells you what angle the swingset truly has relative to the camera and it breaks the illusion. If they were facing the other way they'd have to be mirrored in the seat with their feet sticking out to the right instead of left.
(edit: and the darker color must be the underside not because it's darker but because of the angle that the two sides meet, even if you painted the top side to be darker than the underside the angle they meet would be reversed if the underside were the left)

That is pretty obviously visible if you look at the video on a big screen or increase contrast in the editing software, but it's also verifiable by simple physics. Leg extension/contraction vs the position in the swing and the resulting acceleration.
I don't actually think it's that hard to figure out, people just yearn for the mystery. And the fact that most people look at the video on a phone screen doesn't help.

That's crazy using coding and the map overlays. I've never heard of this at all... but I am one of those people that can find places on the earth with very few clues. I have a buddy who's a remote viewer... I wish I had that talent. But I've worked with him and some "other people" to verify real world locations, using both esoteric means and traditional sleuthing and deducing methods.

Facing the camera 100% - during the back swing, they go 'behind' the A pillar of the swing set. If they were facing away, that would not be possible.
VERY cool illusion though, had me for a few seconds!

The bar is in front of the person, you can see it clearly. In one of the directions the person would be in front of the bar instead, and if that was the case we wouldn't be able to tell what was in front (if u don't see the bar it can be due to many things) but since we see the bar, the only possibility is that it's in front of the person. If you make a quick 3d model (even mentally) you'll realize the only way to be behind the bar is if you're facing the camera, in this situation. :D

At the 0:19 second mark, you can see the person moves behind the top beam on the "back swing", which indicates that theyre facing forward, toward the camera.

Wow interesting stuff. I’ve basically been doing the same without the code filtering. Usually you can guesstimate a lot if you just think about it. The Anchorage jump is a good example since it would be a likely place if it wasn’t Fairbanks.
People act amazed when I track a photo or videos location but it’s the same as googling basically. All the info is out there if you look in the right spots. People post a crazy amount of info on social media and I’m not even talking about scraping meta data off photos or anything.

There are two ways to prove which way the person is facing.
The person moves behind the bar at the right end of the swing's range of motion, which means the person is facing the camera.
Also, the camera's position is to the right of a location in line with the swing's motion, which means legs on the left indicate the person is facing the camera.

At the 0:19 second mark, you can clearly see the person behind the horizontal bar that the chains are attached to. Based on this and how you move your legs when swinging he is facing the camera, kicking legs forward to gain momentum as he swings toward the camera.
