I agree with a previous poster, I spent two years at Brock and it was not a very good experience for me. It's a very boring school with not much happening, professors are a hit and miss with some not even speaking understandable English. Now that I go to Western, the difference is night and day. I feel like I'm getting a real university experience here. I know some people love Brock, and I'm sure for some it's a great experience, but I think everyone needs to think long and hard about what they're really looking for in a school when they decide where to go. If a smaller, quieter school is what you want, Brock might be good for you. For me personally, it just didn't cut it. Schools like Western are a lot better for social life and making connections for future employment opportunities. Choose wisely.

I'll also mention that I disagree with the part about having low grades in high school and struggling in university. University is a much higher level of learning than high school. The work load is tougher and you really need good study skills to get through. High school is where you develop there skills and learn how to manage tougher work loads. If you can't manage the work load in high school, and are going into an intensive program like science, you are going to struggle. I sure did, and my marks weren't that bad in high school. My first year in science consisted of classes like chemistry, biology, physics, statistics and calculus. These classes take a lot of time and dedication in order to do well. Good study skills are vital for your success in such classes. For easier programs it might not be as bad. If you're struggling in high school, it's not the end of the world. But it's an indication that you might need to work on some of your techniques before delving into university life. It's a big change and takes a lot of adjustment at first.

from my opinion as an international student , Brock staffs were quite welcoming and helpful but many of the students were not very friendly and i would go far to guess closet racists. Only a few bunch were nice and most were bahaving like lil rich brats from Tdot. You are right the school is boring but not during the O week and some occasional/very rare event. O week school is lit and lively. Academically speaking, Brock lacked in the science field with sometimes unhelpful ,rude ,unprofessional and underqualified-to-teach T.As, many arrogant profs and underequiped/old lab appartus. As you said there's little sober social life and almost everybody is busy with themselves on their electronics in the cafeteria for example. However Brock do offer an easy student -prof interaction environment although i didnt take advantage of it. I spent my whole years there and i would rate Brock 6/10 and im being generous.

If you can walk and talk come to Brock. Come on it’s not that bad… ok lol, I’ve heard too many complaints from both former and current students.
Instructors walk in late for lectures and sometimes they get cancelled not always but it did happen and for exams? well, good luck because instructors…. Now let’s just move on.
It doesn’t matter where you get your undergrad from as long as you go to a reputable grad school such as UFT or McMaster,etc.. right? Wrong! If you’re not serious about a reputable undergrad school then you’d be lucky to graduate with an undergrad and if it happens to be a less reputable school such as Brock then what? You’re stuck with a Brock degree. Darn! My point is your spending the same amount of time and money at any university might as well choose the best or at least a reputable one.
These are just some of the complaints students addressed at Brock. Why was the chair of the department of health science interrogating some students over a frivolous post made by a student about their prof on Brock Spotted (it’s a Facebook page where students can express their experiences anonymously) I’ve seen the post it did not contain any profanity. Why don’t the
students just address their concerns directly to the prof? Well Brock is different.
What is with instructors not proctoring students during an exam I know this doesn’t always happen but it did. Then you hear other students complain that students are cheating during an exam, seriously? Now I’m sure the instructors were doing extensive research competing with Harvard University they couldn’t possibly babysit the students or assign one. Lol yea totally, researching frivolous posts on Facebook now that’s just Brock. So the academic departments, programs, and instructors are not well organized and not up to your standard, but at least Brock is still an accredited school right? hopefully…
What about student life? Well there’s not much because st.catharinesis a retirement city, but I’m sure you’ll have fun playing bingo with the old folks. Oh come on it’ll be lots of fun.
How about Varsity: well we have many sports except a few like football,etc.. the list goes on, but we have soccer its just that we lost almost every game.
Don’t put yourselves down, hey I know some graduates have jobs within a year after graduating, like dishwashing, waitressing, etc… it’s not that bad, I mean what you expect with a Brock degree?
