Ai is currently absolute trash on smartphones. Granted, there's a few functions it handles well but for 95% of what it can do, you can do it far faster yourself. Absolutely going to preorder a Communicator as well.
@nellerboy2000 completely agree, i don't need image generation and AI assisted camera, with this phone i need the camera to scan the occasional QR code. Its just a waste processor/battery at the moment.
@the4100 actually personally, i begrudgingly love the ai functions in the camera with my S24 ultra. being able to remove shadows or other objects, and being able to take pictures of far-away signs and it automatically cleaning up the blur enough for all the words to be easily readable, have been life-savors for me on many occasions! but other than that, i absolutely agree the vast majority of the usage cases for AI on phones is unnecessary and the result is absolute trash. i would still always rather have a phone without it than with it.
What did everyone expect? Them to custom build an AI software? They're a hardware company. They're running Android. It's going to have Gemini built in. Like they need to do nothing, and yet give a PR answer that the minimalists gobble up. It's such a joke lmfao. How are you eating this up?
Loving the concept of the Clicks. The only thing that I would love to see on the Clicks along the trackpad on the keyboard is the movable mouse as with the Titan 2 Elite.

I was extremely excited for the announcement of the Clicks Communicator; it's literally every feature that I've wanted in a modern phone: headphone jack, expandable storage, small size, wireless charging, magnetic support. I pre-ordered immediately and eagerly await trying it as my primary phone. I can understand the secondary phone angle, and have started doing that personally anyway with my Titan 2 and S23...but in reverse. The Titan is my main, the S23 is only for taking pictures and music in crowded areas where Bluetooth connections get unreliable.

He told me about the presell promotion extended for two weeks and I was so stupid to tell him I don't know if I would buy it.. the true is that I recently lost the job and that frase came out to me so naturally..I saw his disappointment and I feel so bad 🙁

I still think the Priv is the best form factor ever sold. With the Power Keyboard (which I pre-ordered) we get the tack-on version of it, but a native slider would be better.
I will definitely buy this phone (or next gen) in two years, cause in December I bought iPhone Air, and I didn't know about this, otherwise I wouldn't update my previous phone.

Keyboards are kind of cool for typing enthusiasts. Haptic keyboards are great, but for keyboard combos and stuff, physical ones are better. I liked blackberry vibes...

So glad to hear AI is not on their list of priorities. First thing I did on my Pixel 9 was to uninstall and disable everything AI. On the audio, reach out to Sangean. I have several of their tabletop and a utility radio that I use when out in the garden. They deliver a solid rich sound on a mono speaker whether it is talk or music. I am excited to hear what it sounds like given how you went in detail on what you are trying to achieve by sticking with mono and optimizing the design. Can't wait to get our 2 Communicators to upgrade from our Key2 LEs that are starting to show their age.

Maybe if the keyboard is multitouch capable, for something like pinch to zoom or a cursor like on the elite

It seems that the Unihertz keyboard is more Blackberry than the Clicks Communicator. Would also like to see de-Googled/secure OS options.
Clicks is essentially a BB Curve keyboard and Unihertz is a BB Bold one. Both are BlackBerry-style designs.

That's a Nothing product. I'm not saying Nothing has the Patent, it's Nothing identity and I don't see Clicks doing that.
This ticks every box for me. I like these guys. The oooonly thing that’s missing for me is a replaceable/repairable battery.
Every phone has a repairable battery. Just about none have a user replaceable one, so not sure how we can really fault them on this one
