Thanks for the review man. Getting one of these for my nephew. Apple would be wise to make a kid's edition iPad. All you can really do on those is set access and time limits.
A Violent Purple if you go to airport utility you can access the router and set specific dates and time of use for specific apple devices

Whereas if the child is just learning to read and doesn’t know most of the words, will the tablet assisted by saying the word if it is touched?
I've been looking all over and can't find info on using Alexa with these tablets. Not sure if it's because it's a kids tablet (doesn't work in adult profile either) or if it's because I'm in Canada but it doesn't work. I didn't get prompted in the setup like other videos I've seen (I don't think yours did either). And I don't have the option "Alexa" in the settings either. Thoughts?

There is a way to add your own content, but regular free time only comes with videos. If you want to play games too then I’d suggest you either use your own content or get free time unlimited/Kids +(new name)

Actually most apps will work without wifi once its downloaded, like games. But certain apps with on demand content will require wifi. Hope this helps

To be honest its worth to buy the amazon tech for the cheap price. But once you got it, just install google play and nova launcher to make it look like stock android. You can grab kid mode apps off playstore if you need it, but I let my kids use the full experience without problems
