    So the techniques Wim Hof shows do not add more O2 in your body? Wim Hof usually lest his 'students' do 30 breaths for instance. Not hyperventilating but also not just relaxed breathing. His techniques are probably not techniques to be used in freediving? Maybe the purpose of Wim Hof is different... Can you comment on that? Thx!

      @KAIZENFREEDIVING  2 года назад +1

      WH method is a form of hyperventilation. It's indeed not adding any extra O2 in your system. However it probably has therapeutic effect (for the body and mind) and this is why people doing it. For the health benefits. WH himself said countless amount of time that his breathing method shouldn't be used for Freediving.

    Hello, great video!🫡I want to ask when I inhale and try to hold my breath I always have the urge to exhale, or even when I hold my breath for some time, then instead of inhaling again I exhale and then do the recovery breath. How should I work with it or do you have any videos about it?
    Thanks😅

    • @KAIZENFREEDIVING
      @KAIZENFREEDIVING  Год назад +1

      Yes, this is how it works :) if you hold your breath after inhaling, then when you stop, you exhale first. It's normal :)

    7:38 should it be "inhale" instead of "exhale"?

    If the urge to breathe is caused by CO2 why do we still feel the urge to breathe when holding on exhale (empty lungs) ? We don't have much CO2 then !

    • @KAIZENFREEDIVING
      @KAIZENFREEDIVING  4 года назад +1

      Thx for the very good question!
      Two things we need to consider
      1. Regardless of how you hold your breath after full inhale or full exhale, CO2 production by cells will be the same (it depends on a cell's metabolic activity). After full exhale amount of air in the lungs would be obviously much smaller, but pCO2 changes less slightly. Thus diffusion of CO2 from the blood to the lungs is not going to be that much different.
      2. There are not only chemoreceptors which regulating our respiratory muscles
      These are from the top of my head, but probably there are more factors which are making empty lungs STA smaller than full lungs STA
