Kala goes marching down the stairs and is waving two people out of the water. It was JOB and a Brazilian bodyboarder. He had you guys square up and scrap on the sand. It's awesome that the biggest names in surfing like Griff and Jack are so interested in "what it was like when Pipe was heavily regulated." They are really just like the rest of us surf fans that are interested in that too, no matter how many times we have heard the stories. It's equally as awesome that Jamie always has a thoughtful response as to how it was and doesn't just concentrate on the aspect of people getting punched out on the beach. It's about respect and aloha.

Griff, To get people to watch your videos, keep them authentic, don’t burden the viewers with long tv show style intros, they just fast forward it, and be consistent in posting so people feel like they’re getting to know you through your posts. Respond to people whose comments are interesting. Lakey Peterson has a good format I think. I wasn’t even a fan of hers, but the way she gave access and responds to her viewers made me a fan. I now root for her. But I think authenticity is the key. What you have to offer Griff is what it takes to get where you are. So you don’t have to pretend girls are your identity like that guy Zeke. You don’t have to use Bam’s Jackass formula. You don’t have to have a catch phrase like Ben Gravy. You don’t have to be like the Raglan guys making fun of JOB’s format to get views. What’s unique to the Cola bros? Do that! I think we’re in an age where we root for the transparent ones who are willing to share their success instead of keeping their methods a secret. This is my view. Don’t copy anyone else.

Hey Jamie, loving the podcast, Bert was right haha. And all your videos are sick, I think it's like you say, you've just got to ride the wave. I'll go through phases of watching every video and then get distracted and not watch anything for weeks, but then come back again. So it's probably not even that a video is good or bad, just people drifting in and out and you get these peaks and troughs when too many people do that at the same time. Appreciate all you do, keep at it and don't get down on numbers, your content is epic. Yeeewwww 🤙🏻
Midwest boy here, always loved the ocean and surfing because of my brother, but obviously my location doesn’t help with that😂. Towards the end of the pod you spoke about being a positive light for people which got me thinking. For people like me I get to live through you. I’ve only surfed twice and being able to see you live the life I wish I could have a piece of gives me so much joy. Just give it some time I’ll be next to the beach soon, so thank you Jamie🤙🏼!
