That’s hard to say without seeing them. What i would do is tighten it to manufacture specification and check back after 300 miles or so to see if it is loose again. If it is, i would change it out. I would only do this if the car is not showing signs of bad handling. If it is showing signs of bad handling i would go ahead and switch it out.

My shock is loose on top...why? New shock needed?
