Franzen beaten at his own game. Yemelin learns from the best (Franzen) and learns fast. Yemelin generally plays a good clean physical defensive hockey, but when you have Franzen being a bitch and a baby you have no choice but to reciprocate. Those of you who say spearing is fucked up. Franzen got up and played in the power-play unit. Because he is so tough? No because Yemelin didn't really hit him hard. And Franzen dove and pretended to be almost dead.
As a swede I have to admit that Franzén should have had 2 minutes for crosschecking prior to that spearing. Spearing is fucked up but nothing that bothered me too much in this game. Yemelin diving wasn't necessarily what bothered me either, but the fucking refs who didn't catch any of this stuff is what pisses me off. If they'd done their job and nipped it in the bud no one would have been bitching about this or that from this game. Well, no more so than whats normal I guess.
So many videos here about Yemelin being "the bad guy". Yes, this wasn't his greatest moment. But what about Franzen? Besides, if I remember correctly, in this episode Franzen actually pushed Yemelin first. I love Sweden and I love the team but watching this match was pretty embarrassing.
If you dive and spear when playng for your national team you're pretty fucked up. You have no sense of respect or how to conduct yourself. But not only that, when faced for his misconduct Yemelin falls immediately to the ice and embellishes. If you play dirty, and are a big guy, why do you chicken out so fast?

Once a diver, always a diver. Yemelin speared Franzen and dived two times during the game.
Can't agree more, man!

No matter what someone do to you, you still dont do a spearing on someone.

1:45 is best
Yemelin is a good player in the NHL and HE destroys other players...
Franzen was embarrassing, esp. his tantrum at Malkin. But not that I defend Yemelin, what he pulled off during the match was low.
I lost all all the respect of Russian hockey after watching this match
Thats pathetic. No wonder the Habs love him! OLE!
Ok, I see. I usually like Franzen's game. This time he overdid it a bit. Playing dirty? So don't be mad, lying with your own face in the dirt.
