Spencer's versatility on this song is nothing short of incredible, it's got me looking forward to Periphery II. I'm really happy that you guys put out JWY 2.0, it seems to have drawn in a lot of new fans, which has hopefully put you in a position to carry on doing what you're doing, but I do find myself not reading comments any more because it feels like I've read it all before and none of it resonates with me. At the end of the day, you guys are inspirational and I'll be here for the long haul!
Spencer is an awesome vocalist in my opinion. I personally don't understand why so many dislike him. It's rare you get such a dynamic, versatile, talented singer, especially in a metal band. It's just another incredible thing to add to a truly impressive band who's future looks so promising.
@@asherkolars1283 Lol, idk, I didn’t add any of the songs of the new album because of the lyrics, however. I usually don’t like bands talking about religion unless it was part of their roots because when a band randomly starts becoming religious about something, it can disappoint a lot of fans.
@@speediablo I mean, It's only smiles, garden in the bones, follow your ghost, and satellites are some songs of that album that are religion free. idk it's your choice
I love you guys. Your music is incredible and alot of different emotions especially your new material but this will always be one of my favorites by you guys.
I LOVE 2:14 it's so unique to metal but it totally fits the song and the style of Periphery. I'm so glad I came around and gave this band a chance. For me, it used to be instrumental djent or none at all but I finally took a listen to Periphery and my only regret is not listening sooner. I love this band and can't wait to get their new CD!!!
Here's the thing: if your a nice person, you know, saying high to everyone, always happy/smiling, or the shy quiet type who never does any of that, and you tell people you like this kind of music, they'll look at u as if you have wings and 2 heads. Who agrees with me?
im so glad someone else understand periphery. they are probably the best band at what they do. ian you have the best description of them. and the djent noises are hard as fuck to play, sick ass rythm.
for real...spencer is in his best right now...the screams just make me wanna bang my head to the wall...like a huge Sasquatch just slapped me...thats how heavy his screams are now
It seems to me that with every album that they release, they get closer and closer to their niche as far as vocals are concerned. Their actual music is what keeps me going with them, but I've never really minded the vocals, I'm just really happy that they are getting closer, and this album seems like a huge step in the right direction.
That was so epic I cried....of laughter. "Good point relative to metal, good point relative to metal, good point relative to metal, Christina Aguilera moment at 2:14". Maadd respect for that hahaha.
Indeed, and you have an excellent point. Most of what I type is the product of shallow thought, mainly because I feel that some people need to have a word put in about what they say, but I don't care enough to 'argue' with the person. But you have a superb point. Also, I'm also American, I just spend too much time out of the states to really consider it a home.
I do myself enjoy Spencers voice! Alot but I would also like an updated instromental of this song! Because Bulb (Mishas) Make Total Destroy. MADE ME SOO HAPPY!
I love how Misha shares his ideas with everyone through soundclick and whatnot, which is a very down to earth, awesome way of letting the general public hear his writing process, and everybody shits on that and calls them rehashes or recycled tracks. Noone appreciates the openness of the band at all.
Compared to how Spencer sounded on the last record, he has improved 10-fold from what I've heard from the samples of the new record. Definitely will be buying the new album when it drops or I end up preordering it.
I find it to be quite organised, the break near the end gives some room and Matt's drumming ties everything together IMO, I mean, the song is called "Make Total Destroy" so, you know, a clusterfuck is to be expected XD.
I stopped reading youtube comments for about a year, and i just scrolled down after hearing one of the most fucking brutal songs and I have no idea what the fuck any of you are talking about. Think only one thing, this music is fucking awesome
I'm not biased at all in any way with this band or album as far as reading other people's comments below, because I have not read them yet, but I would just like to say that I recently heard of Periphery in the last month or so, and being a huge fan of progressive, technical, and melodic metal, fell in love with the first album that a good friend gave to me and told me to give it a try. So glad I did. Anyway, just want to say I am EXTREMELY excited about this new album and have very high hopes
I don't dislike spencer's vocals, I think he is an amazing singer. It is incredible that he can hit all of the notes he can. That being said, many fans of this genre love instrumental music, such as myself. For this particular type of music, I feel like his vocals can get in the way. The only way I would ever buy Periphery II is if they released an instrumental version, which they won't.
this was posted as an instrumental well after the release of the first album (Periphery as a project has been around since 2004 anyway). but bulb said he wrote it for his old project a while back. so you're both right.
I actually am a fan of the vocals on this song, and if the rest of the album has as strong vocals as this one I'm totally stoked to hear Spence's output.
agreed. I dont read too many comments on youtube since its a waste of time. I thank god for being a musician who plays from the heart therefore I dont talk down on any other musicians.
I don't think it's nonsense, just that he has his own "groove" feeling. Yeah, it's like John Petrucci said on an interview "he has his style, marked" or kinda. Knowing he listens a lot to bands that use syncopation it's easy to know what's coming or what we're expecting from
for the first album, yes, there is an instrumental. For this album, they're not putting out an instrumental, but they're working on something for those who want it.
I don't really know what it's used for. I just watched "Sponce Tracking Vocals for The New Album" video and they said he won't use any pitch correction, so he's obviously used it before. His voice sounds more vibrant and expressive on this album, which I really like. And just so you know i'm not hating on them for using pitch correction theyre my favourite band.
