As a girl, speaking for the girl in the game, you should absolutely blame her and hold her accountable because she is intentionally queued with them and is doing nothing to stop them. Even if you’re not harassing or saying slurs yourself, you are actively supporting it by not reprimanding or doing anything to get them to stop

Unfortunately I get queued with those kinds of guys a lot, and as a girl, whenever I try to comm the trolling would start. And one thing that I've learned is that the more you give them attention, the more "fun" it is for them. If I ignore them and play as I do, usually by the end of the game they either apologize, or they become quiet since they realize I don't really care :P
(Some are wholesome or just straight up simps tho 😭 but I'd take that over douches any day.)

No idea! I understand trash talking between teams bc it's just text, but constantly making fun of your team, being violently bigoted or misogynistic or racist etc, and throwing the game will never make sense to me. You are just ruining somebody's day and making the world a worse place AND your chances of winning go down dramatically. And throwers are literally intentionally trying to lose, like they spend so much effort frantically sweating trying as hard as they can to kill their teammates. I can't imagine spending all that energy on something like that.
The girl, Sage, curious. Could be 1 or more of the following.
1) Not confrontational. Possibly introvert.
2) Maybe desperate for friends that she has bad ones.
3) The mind your own business type. No getting involved in other people’s problems. Don’t care. No help. No escalation. Just walk/play away & pretend nothing happened. She probably thinks doing nothing and doing smh makes no difference as in will not change their minds at all, it’ll just keep flowing in a bad way even if she did speak up for Josh.
The very least good thing to do was to report them. You can even record your gameplays with many 3rd party apps… For me, I always record when things like these happen especially if there’s betrayal. I usually warn in whatever public online games I play that I’m recording so they think twice before making a bad decision with strong intent. Got proof then hopefully not see them soon after reports. However, it’d be troublesome if 1 or more are hackers that can slip back in.
Not confrontational/introvert but she confident enough to speak up and ask josh to unmute them so they can apologize, proving she is able to communicate (for her friends' behalf) and "become a mediator" for both parties, also proving she is not the mind your own business typa gal cos she would've just excluded herself from the entire conversation if that was the case, esp when josh expressed his disappointment that she's queued up with them. Her desperation to have friends is nobody's business but her own. The only thing people can do is react to her friends' sht behavior and how she, herself, responds to people not taking sht from them-- which made her look bad bc she could've just avoided the drama altogether by staying silent after her supposed apology but instead dug herself and her friends a deeper hole by asking josh to unmute them so her friends can tell him their shtty apology. not to mention, the tone of her voice didn't sound apologetic at all, making lots of people think she's just saying those things for sht and giggles. That's why people think she's a pick me bc she didn't sound genuine at all and seemed to be more amused of the entire thing that actually apologetic.

I got to game w a toxic enemy team and one if them invited me after the game and cuz i got curious i joined and they literally just started bodyshaming, being sexist, racist and just throwing slurs until i left just bc i reported them. (It took like 7 seconds for me to leave and they said all that. Pretty impressive)

To be honest sage is either also a genuinely bad and weird af person or she’s the kind that lacks friends and those are the only type she was able to connect with and she won’t go out of her way to find better people to play with because she’s already used to them. She knows what they are saying is bad but if it’s not directed at her she’s okay with it because she thinks those people are joking around and anyone else that thinks differently should be attacked because they are too sensitive. If she speaks up about it they probably attack her and tell her she’s sensitive and brainwashes her in a way.

how do you find the confidence to talk in your lobbies?
At least personally, as someone who often gets targeted bc I'm a girl with a "lower" voice, it helps to always remind myself that I have a mute button and going through that backup plan in my head before the game. I say "hello! good luck have fun" in agent select before every game because that way I get the hard part out of the way, and a lot of times the most toxic people will instantly show themselves and I can mute them before they distract me or tear down my self-esteem. After that, I feel a little more comfortable talking because I remember my simple backup plan. If anyone is toxic toward me for no reason, I instantly mute them - text and voice. If anyone starts being hostile toward me because they suspect I muted their duo or something ridiculous like that, I mute them too. Even though it's really hard sometimes and I'm not the best at it yet, it helps me to just wipe those people out of my mind and pretend they don't exist. If I give any callouts I just pretend those people don't have mics and they never spoke to begin with. Over time I've been finding that it gets easier to talk and I can turn more games around by tuning out the bad people and staying positive, but it's still really hard.

I got reset from gold to bronze but when I was climbing to silver it starts getting toxic in silver thats the only rank I feel in Low elo thats affected the most
Just chiming in on the Sage situation, imo there are two main reasons why I honestly think she's almost as bad as they are. (1.) As their friend, she is the ONLY person whose opinion really matters to them. People care way more about their friends' opinion than strangers on the internet because they don't want their own clique to disapprove of them. The guy "apologized" ONLY after she seemed to ask him to, so he seemed to definitely care at least a little bit about her input, but she didn't "mediate" the "apology" until she was personally confronted and made uncomfortable by the situation. (2.) Just judging by her joking tone and the laughing and the way she didn't really seem to take it seriously, I personally feel like it's unlikely she tried to stop them or did anything to seriously confront her friends about it. Again, she didn't even try to subtly show some compassion or indicate that she understood the gravity of how awful this kind of harassment is... until she was personally confronted and put in an uncomfortable position herself. She enabled it 100% imo, and just because someone isn't brave or outgoing enough to say those things with their chest doesn't mean they can't be homophobic too.
Idk. And obviously I know there are extreme situations where someone is in a horrifyingly awful relationship and they are scared to speak out against their partner, but I just think that's unlikely considering that she ended up getting him to "apologize" anyway, only after she was personally confronted. Not that I know them or what their lives are like though. I think we can be pretty certain these guys have done this more than once before, especially if someone's VOICE alone is enough to piss them off, so I kinda doubt she doesn't already know what type of people they are and how they treat others.

I feel the community in Valorant lately is just horrific. I understand we all have bad games but there is no need to take it out on anyone.
