I appreciate that this book does not just make a bunch of indecently-dressed characters with certain features inappropriately enlarged (if you know what I mean) out of the furries. I have seen too many that are more like xxx sites than fun or cute manga art. Thanks for the flip-through and review! From your videos, Tuttle publishing seems to do a good job of taking Japanese Manga drawing books packed with illustrations, comparisons, and tips and translating to English to sell in other countries. Are there any other publishers you've found that are worth looking into? I have found that the ones from Japan seem to have the most reference content (multiple views, genders, ages, things to consider, tips, etc.) as opposed to just pages and pages of "how-to" content (step-by-steps that show one piece of the drawing, that piece plus another, etc.). If I can find the right few reference drawing manga (or manga chibi) books, I think it will be more worth purchasing those few than tons and tons of step-by-step that often don't apply much past that single drawing. I am also considering this one for Furries obviously, but it may also prove to be a useful reference for human and other animal anatomy and manga drawing, since it shows the animals almost morphing into more human forms and also has pages that compare similar parts on multiple species, such as paws comparison or tails comparisons. (Brings back memories of a book series called Animorphs that was interesting). May also be a fun reference for use with designing monster/alien creatures and general character design.
OMG! Yes I know exactly what you mean! Those kind of artworks is what ALWAYS shows up on my Twitter feed... The only other book publishing I have found that does translated manga/Anime art books is Rockport Publishing. But Tuttle is still on top on this area.
I'm really interested in getting this book, but I can't seem find the English version your talking about. Can you please send me a link to an English version? (Thank you for reviewing this book!)
@@JezzLundkvist Ah- this makes sense now- I usually go to amazon for ordering thing (of course) or go to google shopping, neither of them leads me to it. Thank you so much A.helping me realize my error, and B. helping me find the link!
It would be pawsome to meow finding that book from somewhere at the flea markets and/or bookstores in Finland 🇫🇮 - especially Vantaa, Helsinki and Espoo 🐱👍. Last week, i bought a tutorial book, called THE ART OF DRAWING MANGA FURRIES: A GUIDE TO DRAWING ANTHROPOMORPHIC KEMONO, KEMONOMIMI AND SCALE CHARACTERS, and it's absolutely brilliant and inspiring 😺👍.
@@JezzLundkvist Yes, it does 😺👍. I usually find some drawing tutorial books from the nearest bookstores and flea markets 😹😺👍. Sometimes i get lucky 😸👍, sometimes i don't 😹.
I saw this book a while ago and it looks great, though I didn't have the money for it at the time. Right now I'm looking for help with expressions for characters with beaks (birds, dinos, turtles) -- does this book have a section (even a small one) on that? Thanks for the flip-though! If you can recommend anything, I'd love to know. :3
It does show small sections with expression. But not the ones you are looking for, sadly. I bet there is a Japanese "how to draw" book out there somewhere that do cover it. 🤔
Im a complete noob at drawing and im using this book but i feel like i should learn all fundamentals of drawing before i use this. I really want to draw furries but i feel like im missing some fundamental stuff that the book doesn’t have in but perhaps those are things i have to learn from a drawing coarse
You need to learn the fundeamental anatomy for both human and the animal you wanna draw. Planty of books of them out there and also great courses. But all depends on what you wanna draw.
I've already purchased the book in Japanese on Amazon a year ago, but I share the sentiments. Everything is explained good and briefly. BTW I do actually speak Japanese, so no worries about it ;)

Swedish & English is so boring haha
@HitmanWolf46 hi, you got discord?
I may be a kangaroo but I live in Gotham city is there any books like this being sold in Gotham city I'm looking for this book now
I bet Gotham has something similar to Amazon were you can order it 😉
Unfortunately there's no Amazon in my area of Gotham the only way I can get it is at the library in rikers island which is next to akhram asylum
Where can I buy a translated version?
In a local book store, or Amazon. What ever your prefer :)
If you mean a Japanese version, probably from Amazon or a book store based in Japan.
Where do I buy.
Amazon is one place.
I love it
Awesome to hear! :D
