- It's been a while since i've had any updates on our fertility journey. So it's so nice to finally be able to say we are fully on board the IVF train!
We saw our consultant back in July 2019, who had said after my HSG test showed up i had 2 blocked tubes, that there was nothing further she could do and she referred us onto Birmingham women's hospital for 1 round of IVF on the NHS. Our funding approval for that came through in the Middle of August. But up until 2 weeks ago i hadn't heard anything from the hospital regarding an appointment or what happens next.
I ended up calling them to chase the appointment up as i was getting concerned that i hadn't heard anything. The nice lady on the phone booked me an appointment there and then to come into the Birmingham women's hospital for my first IVF appointment.
We finally got to find out all about what would happen to us during our IVF cycle under Birmingham women's hospital. That i will be put on a short protocol due to my PCOS and the fear of OHSS. So we are now just waiting for AF (period) to show up. and we are good to go!! It's all so exciting now.
IVF is a major step in our infertility journey as we have up to this point had 0% chance of conceiving. And although the chances are still slim with IVF, we have more chance than we did before.
We are so grateful to be eligible for a free round of IVF on the NHS.

Hey!! ahh how exciting. Yeah it's a weird time isn't it coming up towards the Christmas break. But at least you'll be able to enjoy Christmas and then start the new year. Best of luck to you too xx

Thanks for the video. Couple of questions though, I have been told I need photo ID for the consent appointment, is that true? I don't have photo ID. What do I do? Also, do they still do height and weight etc in the appointment?
