    Great video and thank you. Did know why the thread lock on the rotor bolt. Once torqued and the wheel over the rotor, the bolt will never come out.

    I have a 2014 320i I just replaced rear calipers and pads because i was told they were locked up replaced both sides and they still lock up when you crack the bleeder or the line at the chassis the breaks release what could be causing this issue

    Its possible to do this without removing the caliper bracket, just have to turn the disc a bit and slide it into place

    I recently replaced my rear pads and rotors but afterwards noticed my emergency brake felt a bit slack compared to how it felt previously. I plan on replacing my front pads and rotors over the weekend and will revisit the rear to try fix the issue. Any idea what i may have done wrong and how to correct it?
    Thanks in advance.

      I think there is way to widen the pads a part of the e brake system on the inside of the rotor where it mounts onto the hub. I think you have turn a screw. I cant remember exactly. I also think it may not be as good because that protective layer that's on the surface of the rotors when you buy them brand new. After awhile i think it will rub off on the inside of the rotor where it makes contact and it will go back to having more grip on it.

    I wouldn’t use thread locker on anything in my brakes. I’d use a small dab of anti seize if anything. Emphasis on small dab. The screw can’t go anywhere and really isn’t needed.

    • @InlineSixAuto
      @InlineSixAuto 3 года назад +1

      I would recommend it at least on the caliper bolts. I’ve had a caliper bolt somehow find a way to fall out on me while driving and had the front caliper hanging on by just the one not seated correctly.

    In my f30 you need to take off the rubber cap over the brake bleeder lines to change the brake pad sensor. Would this let air into the brake lines when I take the rubber cap off, even if I dont press the brake pedal?

    • @InlineSixAuto
      @InlineSixAuto 3 года назад +1

      No because the bleeder screw is still closed. Air would only get into it if you opened the bleeder screw by turning it

      No you don’t have too, but if the rotors start developing a little lip around the edge you should or get them resurfaced

    Hey quick question are your front brakes considered m sport brakes yet they are 340x30mm instead of 370x30mm? I have the same front brakes and rears as you yet my car is considered an "m sport" and I need to replace all my rotors and brake pads but im struggling to find the correct size for my vehicle as certain sites say it won't fit an m sport since it isn't 370x30mm but I believe its the 340x30mm is the correct size for my car.

    • @InlineSixAuto
      @InlineSixAuto 3 года назад +1

      If they are the gray unpainted calipers it is 340x30 in the front and 330x20 in the rear. If you’re unsure it actually says what size rotors on the back side of your calipers. 370 is only for the painted calipers that were on the newer 340i’s I believe.

    • @InlineSixAuto
      @InlineSixAuto 3 года назад

      The code for the gray unpainted calipers is P337A

    I've seen different specs for the rear torque than the front torque for the caliper bolts. I'll be doing my rear brakes and rotors this weekend on a 2016 320i xdrive. 81 ft lb for the front, but only 22 ft lb for the rear. Can you confirm?

    • @InlineSixAuto
      @InlineSixAuto 3 года назад

      I couldn’t get a consistent answer either so I just did the same as the front, 81ft lb, for the two bolts that secure the caliper bracket.

    • @InlineSixAuto
      @InlineSixAuto 3 года назад

      I think you can use either sizes both should work. But the 7mm fits a bit better so you lessen the chance of rounding off the inside of the screw in the case that’s it’s really tight but if it was torqued to spec it shouldn’t be hard to break free.
