if legs are sore for a week, then at least 3 days after training the legs, stay home, eat and rest. if you train like tom platz then you rest like him too - he was training so intense that he needed 2 weeks rest fir legs,, so it was 2 times per month training legs only. if you want to train legs once a week, then only do 3 hard sets, maybe 2, some people only need 1 strong, high intensity set for legs and that;s it, they move to leg extensions to do another high intensity set there- that;s enough for many people.
