At 2:38 you did a lightning-fast maneuver that requires right-clicking on the empty space below the layers, which brings up the submenu that allows creation of a camera. It took me 10 minutes just to figure this out. I felt like I was watching a magic trick and had to slow down your video frame by frame just to figure out what you were doing. I know this is totally rudimentary stuff, but please bear in mind that a lot of us learning to use AE, and we don't always pick up on these things.
Looks really nice! A good tip at 9:20 I learned from Andrew Kramer is to click on a cloud you already have in the scene, then holding "Alt" and place it on top. That makes your new photo/object be exactly where the others are in 3D - so you down have to size down, reposition and so on
Hi, I'm aware it's 2 years late, but please add 'Seizure risk: Fast blinking screen.' I had a 40-year-old viewer who blacked out at the start of your video. I'm aware that you can't do it in the video, maybe a very short add on the title? Tahnk you 🙂
Trying my hardest to find a map to download with a decent resolution. But I can't find any satellite images to download that aren't completely crunched.
Yes defiantly would work, on this channel I like to avoid plugins as much as possible as it limits the audience. But there are lots of plugins which would make this much faster for sure. Thanks
10:01 How do you magically create a fill layer? When I right-click in the project panel, "fill" is not an option. I have to go into effects->animation presets->Generate->Fill. Is that right? You seem to do it instantaneously. What am I missing here?
question: when i draw my line from point A to B it doesn`t stick to the map due to the camera movement. it slightly moves away. can i connect the line to the map? i am not a pro in ae so its probably simple! glad if someone could help
Best place is to use either Google or Bing maps for personal projects. Bing maps allows you to remove all roads and markers. Perfect for this kind of effect!
Just create a keyframe for the position and animate over time. You can use the x, y or z position. Also consider using the puppet tool or bulge effect to animate the clouds in other ways.
@@FlatPackFX Thanks man for the quick reply. I also do lot of AE stuff planning to buy a MBA m1 max 64gb I am switching from PC. do you think I can do AE without any issues. appreciate your thought?
Yes good question, only a few people have them and there are lots of tutorials on them out there already. On this channel I like to always show people alternatives to using plugins. Plugins are great but you don’t always need them to get good results.
3:25 "Perspective" - God, how smart you are. 😂 It would be better for you to suggest a free Plugin where you can do all this faster. Free Analog Map Route Generator and something like Geo layers. "Perspective" )))
Why do you keep on giving great easy breakdown tutorials man.... You should start chargin.... (*look at courses and buys them*) Jokes aside, Ross' course is a must for noobs like me
We did also, our layer looked like a psychedelic (strong) orange/redish hue with black on the inside circles, tried changing the color but nothing worked. Also not sure how to align this specific layer. Any comments welcome.
suggestion: slow down, fix on the important point , then move to the next, put yourself in the cutout at the corner - otherwise the only thing i remeber is your face :)
I dislike your video as you are repeatedly asking or saying to get Envato elements for like 5 times although you can do more while creating your own assets which you already doing.

@@FlatPackFX Thanks for the reply, great setup you've got there
How about using a depth map of a country (or creating one) than taking it into Trapcode Mir and creating a 3D scene that way?

Fantastic. Suppose I wanted to make the clouds move?

@@FlatPackFX Thanks, great (wasn't sure if the animated already 3d camera would pick up the movements correctly)
@@richochet Yes, as long as you are animating the layer in 3D space (X, Y & Z) it will animate correctly.
is that an Imac or a MBP?
Just an intel iMac
@@FlatPackFX Thanks man for the quick reply. I also do lot of AE stuff planning to buy a MBA m1 max 64gb I am switching from PC. do you think I can do AE without any issues. appreciate your thought?
Yeah M1 max will be a great setup. It doesn’t matter what system you use, both Ae & Pr still tend to use more CPU than GPU at this stage.

why not just use geolayers 3 and mattle form pro ?
