    • @heathergraham2581
      @heathergraham2581 5 лет назад +267

      Charles Ramsey is actually pretty humble about the entire thing. I have watched several interviews with him and, believe it or not, he is not looking for credit. He thinks that should always go to the girls who endured & survived what they did for THAT long.
      The one thing I do feel deserves clearing up though is the fact that it was Ramsey, and Ramsey alone, who took action to help free Amanda past that door. That Angel guy, and a woman, were trying to take credit when Ramsey later revealed the guy actually said to him "I do not want to get involved." And the woman was trying to shoo him away. Amanda also made it clear in her book who it was that actually helped her.
      Castro was not in the house at the time of the escape so luckily Charles Ramsey did not have to worry about being shot at.

    • @David_R922
      @David_R922 5 лет назад +28

      @@heathergraham2581 To be fair, none of them knew about Ariel Castro's secret prison. They saw Jocelyn and thought it was his granddaughter. When they see this woman trying to get out of the house with his "granddaughter", they probably don't know what to think. She could be a kidnapper or a crazy girlfriend. Even when they hear the name Amanda Berry, they may have forgotten about her.

    • @David_R922
      @David_R922 5 лет назад +30

      Thankfully Castro wasn't home. If the police came when he was home, he probably would've killed them all and himself, or would've been killed by the police. He wouldn't have surrendered peacefully. I'm glad he was arrested and sentenced before killing himself.

    • @heathergraham2581
      @heathergraham2581 5 лет назад +9

      @@David_R922 Castro actually told people the child belonged to his girlfriend (ie. Angie Castro, a member of his band etc.), not that it was his granddaughter. So a woman with the child should not have made anybody doubt anything.
      But, more importantly, nobody saw any child while Amanda was yelling to get out. It was just her at the screen door. So that reasoning wouldn't make any sense. Even Ramsey says he was surprised to see a child crawl out after Amanda did. And before the escape, the little girl wasn't out all time; there were just a few occasions he brought her outside. Some people saw her briefly.
      I believe Ramsey and Angel's response is unfortunately very typical of alot of people. They just don't want to get involved. I think it's dishonest he tried to lie and say it was him. Way back, the BBC did some interviews in that neighborhood and even back when Castro was beating his wife, a neighbor admitted in the interview they knew about the domestic violence when she came running out barely clothed but "you just don't get involved in marital situations."

She was telling us that she was coming home from work and she wanted a ride and her friend’s dad and she’d gotten in and it was the biggest mistake of her life. She never announced her kidnapper. I never knew it was him. She told us about how she had her baby during the kidnapping.
