That's a good catch! Although I do think even if it didn't cap, hitting 5 targets when at least 3 are normal marches is a significant chunk of damage and needs respecting 😅, but yeah a 50% cap brings that 40% damage up 10% which is a nice boost especially for the fact that it's applied to 5 enemies at that point 🙂
i wonder whats the best for defult evenly trained cities? most players dont have strength to go 2m cavs 0 others distribution. it just goes even without much prep. which is best for default farm cities? theo hera? yss hera? or jang/flavius/dido hera depending on equipements..? trade off point is hard to decide...and most videos out there talk about pass/structure defense. nobody gave a shit about city
That's a great question! For city defense I would say your main troop type (Jan/Flav/Dido) with Hera. Hera's skills are even better in citu defense, and while YSS Hera has potential in theory, but I haven't heard great things about it, where having your main troop type lead takes your specialty troop and Buffs them as well as the fact that all 3 do benefit all troops in one way or another (reduced damage, increased counterattack damage, etc.). Theo I fear has fallen off hard with the sheer number of other options available. Personally Jan Hera and Flav Hera definitely perform well in city and objective Defenses from personal testing so I can say for certain those are solid options and do well even with significant mixes consistent with what you'd have in a city. I think city defense gets glossed over really often because it's avoidable, you can bubble, or stay on safe territory, but you can't really do that for a structure or pass, that confrontation can be forced. So it typically gets glossed over or implied to be the same as point defense.
@@XxTeamCharlie That's a great option too if you have Wu expertised, just hard to justify for a player who's just getting into garrisons, you can get better value on a newer commander, especially with the near constant power creep in garrisons and rallies right now 😅
He is absolutely worth an expertise, his expertise skill is a huge amount of damage reduction, especially for cities. That being said, if you plan on building a garrison for point defense (flags/forts) I would recommend Hera with a specialty commander like Jan, Dido, or Gorgo when she comes out, as you'll get better trades with that setup in a static defense. Hera YSS suffers from weak talent tree selection so you lose a lot of talent value you get with specialty commanders. This is also true for using Hera YSS as a city defense to an extent, where you might be better off with a specialty commander for your main troop type paired with Hera. But if you're dead set on city defense, it's hard to go wrong with Hera 🙂
@@commodoreborisSo I shouldn't invest in him until I have someone other than YSS for city defense? I have all meta commanders for the field for the most part. That's the only reason I'm looking to beef up my city defense
Well Hera maxed with anybody will do well, even with an unmaxed commander like your YSS for your city so you can build hera first, then after Hera is settled see what's available then and go from there. Your Hera YSS defense will do decently enough in the short term, and Hera is set to be good for quite some time, then once you get your specialty commander to go with hera switch to that 🙂. Hera YSS isn't Terrible, it just isn't as great as other options that are out there so it's typically weak outside of city defense since the meta drives garrisons and rallies, but a solid starting point for the short term for sure 🙂
@@commodoreboris ok thanks. I appreciate your time and advice. I'm more of a cav player so I have the gear for that. I might wait for the next cav commanders and see if they're garrison, which they should be. Then I'll exp hera. I guess I'll wait and see and be patient.
Glad to be of help! Yeah that's always a good call too 🙂, never hurts to wait a bit and see what next units are, especially since after gorgo cavs will be the next one or the one after (depending on if we get a leadership cycle) 🙂

Good video Boris
It was tested that the damage still goes up for 5 targets > 4 > 3 because the damage reduction is capped at 50%.

Amazing and informative video. Keep up amazing work
Thanks, Glad you liked it! 🙂

I use expert wu/Hera for city defense and it matters a lot to me

Is he worth exp if i have him at 5531 and YSS at 5533 for city defense?
