I just turned 62 and I’m still trying to get faster. One thing that I am guilty of is sitting down through turns because I think that’s the way I learned. I feel like I can go faster with my weight lower on the bike. It sounds like you’re saying that’s not the right thing to do and then I should be standing through the turns as well. I’m gonna try that and see how it works out.
That’s great! You know how when you are coming into a corner, and it has bumps before and after the turn? Well if it’s bumpy like this it’s much easier on your body to stand through these bumps! This way you can ride into the corner much smoother, and faster. So continue practicing your standing technique and it will get more comfortable with time! If you watch the pro riders, sometimes they will not even sit down around a corner to avoid as many bumps as possible! Hopefully this helps! What kind of bike do you have?

@@RadAdventureDude I had a KTM 300 which was an amazing technical single track bike but I was riding it for almost 15 years. I decided to go a different direction and I bought a 2020 KTM 500 EXC Dash F. It’s an amazing bike and I put quite a bit of money into it to make it feel like a race bike. From a vortex ignition to raise seat lowered pegs protection everywhere I mean it really is probably one of the best set up 500’s around. But it definitely is a lot of bike when you get into the more technical single which is what I like. It takes more energy to move that weight around and you have to plan better. But I do love the bike it’s much more comfortable for me than my 300 was as I am getting older. It also allows me to ride in areas legally especially here in crazy California… L O L!
That sounds like a sweet set up! I’ve never rode a 500, I bet is great in the desert! I like the single track and desert riding too! I just follow the seasons around from mountain tops in the summer, and desert in the winter! I really enjoy the Ktm 350 sxf for all the trails and tracks. It has plenty of power, but also is still light enough to throw around, and it doesn’t tire you out as much when you ride! Have you ever been riding in Colorado before?
@@RadAdventureDude The 500 to an awesome bike but it is definitely not flickable like a lighter two-stroke or even the 350 you have. Many times… In fact I’ll be at Taylor Park the 17th through the 23rd!
