Hi I am new to flutter and just going to start the backend in Flutter i have done some basic backend development in Java servlet any tips for a beginner like me?
Hi and thanks for watching. You don't need to run and config a backend from scratch. There are platforms as I mentioned in the video that manage the server for you. You can focus on your app development. I try to make videos on different services of the backends. You can suggest the topics you like to see.
Thanks for watching. If your app has a huge database, you can consider Google Cloud or AWS. They also support your app in terms of scalability. If your app is small to medium, you can try Supabase, which offers PostgreSQL and gives you 500MB free database space.
Hi great video but I’m still a bit confused. Should I use flutter to make an app like Instagram and Twitter. I want my app to have very good performance and be fast. Also what Baas should I use for an app like this. I was thinking of using for base but you said that it is only good for small and mid sized apps. Would it be good for a social media app or should I use another one. Thank you.
Thanks for watching. You can't go wrong with Google Cloud or AWS. Recently it is possible to access Google Cloud services through Firebase. It's great for scaling your app.
Hi man 💖 , I want to know something.. what do we mean when we say hosting mobile applications. . Do you mean that we put the source code of the application inside the hosting, or do you mean that we put the control panel of the application only inside the hosting and we manage the application through it and the application code is inside Google Play?
Hi, thanks for watching. You write your application, make it apk and put it on google play. Then user installs your app. That's client side. Server side or hosting means whatever you do outside user's device like sign in using username and password, or using Google credentials because the information needs to go to a server and be processed. Or you need to save data on your database on the server. Or you need to do some data processing. For example, you get user's location and on server you specify the closest ride or closest restaurant and return the results to the user.
Thanks for watching. Laravel on server side to process some data is possible. Like create an api and call it in your flutter app. But backend is more than processing data. If you want database, you have to set it up from scratch. User login system should also be implemented. But if you take firebase, everything is ready, you just need to use it. I hope it helps.
Thanks for watching. for startup, you can use firebase which offers free services up to a point. Then, you can monetize the app and pay for the services. Enterprises consider reliability and scalability when choosing a cloud service. AWS is the one most big companies use.

What is the different of cloud service between small company and enterprise? Are those services from small company eg. back4app cheaper for startups?

Firebase is to expensive for large apps
yes, but when you have a large app with large audience, you can monetize your app and cover the cost of Firebase.
