Got to the bloodhound knight and died 30+ times and couldn't help but laugh that you said how easy this boss is as we are way over levelled. Following the method used in the video and other videos had no success for me, it wasn't until one video I saw someone use their shield that I actually beat him (others made no use of the shield). Hope this helps someone.
To any new players the only thing that is really useful to make with crafting is the gold pickled fowl feet which gives you around 50% more runes from enemies you kill. The cookbook can be purchased from patches in murkwater cave. Very helpful for leveling up quicker
Dude, I'd be lost without this video. Thanks for taking the time to put this together! My first attempt at streaming this was so difficult but now that I've prepped myself with your video I'm good to go!
When I ran from the black horseman, I accidentally jumped off the cliff. When I did, I landed on an edge just before I hit the bottom. He followed and died right when I did. I was so mad until I woke up at the site of grace with the new ash of war. When I picked up my runes, there were 42,000 runs more than when I died 😅
Man I gave this game a try and it’s a beautiful game but I got discouraged didn’t know how to start or where to go thanks for this I realize Elden ring is one of those games if ur new to souls games ur going to need a basic tutorial cause it doesn’t guide u well
Nice work, youwy. A fresh beginner's guide makes sense with DLC looming, as that likely draws new players who decide to buy both original/DLC content at once. Plus, if you wanted, you could easily expand the "beginner" series with shorter videos on more specific topics according to whatever categories make sense. Could be beginners guide to two-handed-sword build, dual-weapon, build, incantation build, sorcery build, etc. It could be beginners guide to poise break build, status proc, intelligence spells, faith spells, etc. It could be beginner's guide to swords, axes, hammers, spells. Lot of ways to go with it for new content.
Before watching this video I tried killing margit the fell omen straight away and I couldn’t do it, went back there after doing this and done it second try, thanks buddy👍🏻👊🏻
Don't go after the Radagon Soreseal Talisman at 51:13... The medallion was achievable but getting to the talisman was difficult and I ended up losing the 150K runes from it....
when youwy released the skybox tier list video i thought he was in trouble. i thought “this man has lost it. fromsoft give him the dlc before he starts making tier list about grass!” now we are here and he is still making solid videos and it seems his sanity is still intact.
Dude, thank you so much for making this. I hesitated on buying this game until now and I would’ve been completely lost without this video. You saved me a lot of time, confusion, and frustration.
Horseback combat depends on what kind of player you are. There are some mini bosses and bosses I only defeated by being on a horse. That's because I'm more of a hit and run or slash and dash kind of player. Basically throw a few hits then run to either dodge the boss attack or recover some health. If I try it with face on combat, I get killed. Try doing combat both ways and you'll find out what kind of fighting style works for you.
Cool. Sounds like using the bike in “Days Gone” to do strafing runs against “hordes” rather than taking them on while on foot with fire bombs and such. Not the usual method, but the games allow you to mix it up.
Excellent video, very informative. I have watched many videos about Elden Ring but yours is the first one I have found that takes all the questions and turns them into answers. Thanks.
Best tip for all souls games, don't be scared to look up walkthroughs, don't be scared to ask where to go. Fromsoft does a good job of making the first playthrough less fun than consecutive playthroughs when it comes to knowledge about the game.
@@dusk126 I'd argue that wondering around aimlessly in these games is one of the least fun experiences. I looked up speedrun strats on some of my first playthroughs and it made the game 10x more fun. I can see why some people wouldn't want to do that, but if you are really stuck, just look up a guide
I dunno, I think blind playthroughs are almost a necessity for games like this, when you're told what to r Prepare for, how to handle it whan to feel where to go, it just sucks out all the autonomy from the game, nothing is surprising, nothing requires thought, idk that level of being told what you should do levels on like, job training so that your employees don't screw up, but in a video game, you're free to make mistakes
Thank you so much for this wonderful work, as a total beginner to elden ring and any souls like game ever, game is somewhat more forgiving and making it a nicer experience to learn thanks to this guide.
You don't have to. I'm new to souls games and I'm 12 hours in and level 30 and have killed a bunch of bosses. You have all the stuff you need in the first area to progress, this isn't necessary.
You don't have to do any of this. You can just play the game and explore. Some people would rather get powerful before they actually play the game, for various reasons. In my case, I beat the game twice when it was released and am playing again and forgot where a couple of the items are. But my first run was totally blind. I didn't look any of this stuff up. You can absolutely do it
If you start playing u will know that videos like this are absolutely needed among new players cus even if you do exactly everything this video’ve shown, you’ll still get absolutely wrecked by the very first tree sentinel that you see right at the start.
If you talk to Blaidd in the ruins where you got the Axe Talisman he will help you fight the Bloodhound Knight for the Bloodhounds Fang Curved Greatsword and he will give you a Somber 2 Stone.
So I just started playing this like a couple hours ago and I have to remap the heal button. Don't know what game has me hitting square, but I'm spamming potions.
Plan on getting the game during the next steam sale. Preciate the vid🙋🏽♂️ Update: got the game a while ago, now have around 150hrs. Fantastic game would recommend to all
Thank you so much for the intro to the game I was having a hard time getting started. Now it's one of the best games I've played in my life so yeah it's a good game 😅
Wow I love this guide! You explain a lot that other's don't. You gave me courage!! I downloaded Elden Ring yesterday and I'm gonna try it now 😂 Hoping this will get me prepared to play Darksouls as the ultimate end goal hahahaha
40:37 I got jipped. I lead him around the bridge corner but he went on the ledge with me. I jumped around trying to escape i fell off and died, he fell off and died. I got the the gold ash of war but never got the runes. I ran back to pick them up. Thinking there was 55k there, i swallowed a golden foot. Nothing. Nada. I had 0 runes to begin with before i fell off. My rune pick up marker had 0. Edit: i was farming the metal ball drop, got up to 82k then randomly it gave me 9,720 runes.
Good video! Helped me out a lot coming back after a good 2+ year break. I'll admit.. it was challenging following you through a few areas that I didn't remember, but once I paused and figured out those spots I was good to go. One little thing about golden runes that wasn't mentioned that i'm sure new players will appreciate is that you don't lose them when you die... I always save my runes and use them for something specific. Whether it be leveling up or buying something, I try to be as close to zero runes as i can, only using golden runes to get to that mark.
For the troll carts, you can also follow them until they reach their destination if you happen to be struggling with killing one of them, though this might take a while lol
Nice video mate. You actually leave info on the screen long enough to see it. And you explain everything 👍🏻. What level is your character on after 2000 hours?
Vagabond for min/max Faith builds that demand 12 or more dex for weapons, Prophet for pure faith and Strength Faith. I nervous sweat with anything higher than 10 dex.
I got this game closer to when it came out and played it a bit. I only got past the first boss and a bit more exploration after that, so not that far. I remember it being a little overly difficult for me so I stepped away and didn't really come back to it. I decided I wanted to pick it up on the Steam Sale so that I could have it for my steam deck and I would be more likely to play. I'm looking forward to trying this guide to and seeing if it helps me to get set up a little better at the start rather than just running in and getting pummeled. I know there will still be a good aspect of git good I'll need to do but this looks like it will help
A good reason to start with crafting is that you can make and use fire arrows to great effect in Stormveil. There are fire barrels everywhere, and you can blow up enemies from stealth with a fire arrow. All the servants and most of the birds in that place can be blown up. Poison arrows are great for them stupid bell bearing hunters (the red Night, Knights/Try night, but hole.)
Decided to play elden ring for the first time, after reading all reviews, btw I am not a fan of souls game. Tried to follow this video, till I get the blood fang and level up up to +4, decided to fight tree sentinel for the first time and I only died 3times then finally beat it. I am very happy 😂. Thanks mate. Spending 10hrs just to follow every step in this video.
I think the biggest thing for new players is the site of grace point to where you need to go , I tried playing when the game was new and it being my 1st time playing a dark souls game I was so confused on what I was supposed to be doing I didn't touch the game till months later. maybe I'm just really stupid
And can you show us the location in the map for every important place you go to ? For the new players are hard to find and we get distracted with exploring
Going to be 100% honest: this is an incredible video with lots of detail. But... For those of us that want to play and learn the game legitimately, it's pretty awful to see the first hour is simply skipping around and grabbing items, cheesing bosses. The fun of these games is trial and error, fighting for your worth; it's not about getting OP and breezing through everything. The boss fights in Dark Souls are amazing because bosses are really, really threatening. Again, amazing video - I learned a lot - , but it might be better to call it "how to cheese your start in Elden Ring."
So im at 35:34 and my question is why havent you showm how to get the bell yet, simce they make the game a bit easier aswell, but aside from the map showing amd the things other people mentioned, this video has helped me very much thank you
Thank you for video, my comment would be what about Skills / Memory slots? You showed what to buy, but how to equip and use them I didn't understand. Good vid tho.
Why did the first big rune gain he had 40min into the video work for him, but not for me? The black knight on the horse just respawned when he fell off the cliff..

Follow this guide. It’ll set you up for success. Then just commit to figuring the game out. Ignore crafting until you feel like you understand everything else.
~1 hour following, pretty solid, i didn't do it all, even following his steps half way helps a lot - more helas etc, going to go fuck up the sentinel now xD@@inquir2283
I missed out on a lot of quest lines first play through skipping into different areas, wanted to start a new character and this helped tremendously, didn't skip anything but got slightly strong enough to play through the beginning thank you.
I usually don’t comment on RUclips videos but I just started Elden ring and had no idea what I was getting into for the most part. After finding this video though I’ve been saved!! Everything is so clear and easy to follow thanks so much for making this it really helped me :]]
I started the game yesterday and this is by far the best beginner's guide I came across.
I've owned the game since release but am just tonight starting up. Yours is the first video I've watched. Thanks.
I just bought this on ps5 for Black Friday 20$!! im at the one hour mark on this video and had to take a break like 5 minutes ago 😂 thank god for people like this dude. This is my first souls game. I had to try and mimic the tears of the kingdom Zelda controls as much as possible since im kinda used to those configs.
I know it’s five months later but I gave up 2years ago and never beat the game. I’m committing this time and found this extremely helpful and entertaining. Thanks for taking your time to make this. Glad to see you’re still playing.
Same bruhh i felt that game was hard as shit when I first played it 💀
Complete fromsoft noob here. Bought the game a year ago, gave up after 5 hours. Decided to try again following this guide to give myself a chance.
That was fun to watch. I decided not to overlevel myself for my first character, but the locations and tips you provide are very much appreciated.
Ur guide is good, but u are too fast so its really difficult to catch up
*I am lv 322 on my 2nd run and watching and i want to watch every guide vid on youtube*
Man I gave this game a try and it’s a beautiful game but I got discouraged didn’t know how to start or where to go thanks for this I realize Elden ring is one of those games if ur new to souls games ur going to need a basic tutorial cause it doesn’t guide u well
Same sadly that’s also the reason why i’m returning it… having to look everything up sucks
News of DLC depot... And youwy posting a video for new players.
The stars are aligned my friends... DLC news imminent!! 🎉🎉
you were correct
Before watching this video I tried killing margit the fell omen straight away and I couldn’t do it, went back there after doing this and done it second try, thanks buddy👍🏻👊🏻
Don't go after the Radagon Soreseal Talisman at 51:13... The medallion was achievable but getting to the talisman was difficult and I ended up losing the 150K runes from it....
You didnt think to use those runes on levels before entering..? :| The soreseal is the single best talisman you can get early in the game.
when youwy released the skybox tier list video i thought he was in trouble. i thought “this man has lost it. fromsoft give him the dlc before he starts making tier list about grass!” now we are here and he is still making solid videos and it seems his sanity is still intact.
Dude, thank you so much for making this. I hesitated on buying this game until now and I would’ve been completely lost without this video. You saved me a lot of time, confusion, and frustration.
This game is overwhelming to start, but you made this easy to follow. Just saying “thanks!” ✌️
I was overwhelmed with all the maps and new terms but this guide helped a lot! Thanks! The first boss one was epic
Amazing!! Helped me a lot, Thanks!
Excellent video, very informative. I have watched many videos about Elden Ring but yours is the first one I have found that takes all the questions and turns them into answers. Thanks.
This is my first souls game, and after struggling a whole day with zero progress, this video helped me get a good start in the game 🙌🏻🙌🏻
I appreciate the idea of this video because I was thinking for a beginner walkthrough but didnt wanna watch one from the week of the games release..
Best tip for all souls games, don't be scared to look up walkthroughs, don't be scared to ask where to go. Fromsoft does a good job of making the first playthrough less fun than consecutive playthroughs when it comes to knowledge about the game.
this is horrible advice, thats how you actively ruin the fun of the game
@@dusk126 I'd argue that wondering around aimlessly in these games is one of the least fun experiences. I looked up speedrun strats on some of my first playthroughs and it made the game 10x more fun. I can see why some people wouldn't want to do that, but if you are really stuck, just look up a guide
@@samthepigman4069 In a way I agree. If it comes down to quiting for good or watching a small video on what to do, just watch the video.
@@dusk126 I almost quit.didnt know to lock on,how to 2hand,how to upgrade. Lost in sellia after 2hrs. Guide helped me alot.
I dunno, I think blind playthroughs are almost a necessity for games like this, when you're told what to r
Prepare for, how to handle it whan to feel where to go, it just sucks out all the autonomy from the game, nothing is surprising, nothing requires thought, idk that level of being told what you should do levels on like, job training so that your employees don't screw up, but in a video game, you're free to make mistakes
Thank you so much for this wonderful work, as a total beginner to elden ring and any souls like game ever, game is somewhat more forgiving and making it a nicer experience to learn thanks to this guide.
Man everytime i wanna try elden ring I watch one of these videos and lose all motivation..who wants to all this before starting the actual game..
This is more just to cheese your character to make it easier, you can progress normally just fine.
What cracks me up is most Souls player hate easy games then spend 3 hours collecting items to make the game easier! 😂
If you talk to Blaidd in the ruins where you got the Axe Talisman he will help you fight the Bloodhound Knight for the Bloodhounds Fang Curved Greatsword and he will give you a Somber 2 Stone.
And let you buy the talisman from the giant blacksmith outside of the manor
Love this video… but as a player that just played his first 50 hours I have to say I’m glad I did it all blind. This game is so much fun to explore!
So I just started playing this like a couple hours ago and I have to remap the heal button. Don't know what game has me hitting square, but I'm spamming potions.
Great video, I am just getting into elden ring and it’s such a hard but addictive and fun game, I now have all the information I need
Plan on getting the game during the next steam sale. Preciate the vid🙋🏽♂️
Update: got the game a while ago, now have around 150hrs. Fantastic game would recommend to all
It’s on sale I just got it
@@sMaLLtOWnBeAn yessir, I got in months ago and beat the dlc couple days ago. Have fun with it! It’s my favorite game of all time🧍🏽♂️
Thank you so much for the intro to the game I was having a hard time getting started. Now it's one of the best games I've played in my life so yeah it's a good game 😅
This is fantastic, it came randomly and since I'm preparing for the DLC this route is amazingly explained.
makes for a great start and opens map, vendors and save points! thanks so much!
I have been struggling in this game and even deleted it a couple times. Thank you man, I’m really e going this game
Wow I love this guide! You explain a lot that other's don't. You gave me courage!! I downloaded Elden Ring yesterday and I'm gonna try it now 😂 Hoping this will get me prepared to play Darksouls as the ultimate end goal hahahaha
1:17 every starting armor is NOT accessible at the beginning of the game. Example: confessor armor isn’t available until Altus.
Thanks man. Gave me a great starting point for the game!
great vid! gave me an awesome head start and as someone who's new to the souls genre this is exactly what i needed. THANKS!
40:37
I got jipped.
This video was awesome! I got very frustrated with the game and never have played a souls type game and your explanations helped me a ton
I just picked up after about 2 years. This was refreshing to watch
Here i am rune farming in limegrave because I was too afraid to venture out. Love how unique this game is.
thnq so much for this walkthru .. rlly needed as i just begun yesterday and was clueless where and what to do... :)
Thanks for the video, good stuff. But a quick map shot of location when approaching a step, especially after FF your playthrough would be great!
Nice video mate. You actually leave info on the screen long enough to see it. And you explain everything 👍🏻.
What level is your character on after 2000 hours?
At 28:22 how do you do that? How can i make the sword go in? What do i klick i keep dying. How do you do that on ps controller??? Help me
I feel like you just saved me 2500 hours of playtime. Thanks for the incredible walkthrough!
Would you pick vagabond or confessor for a strength/faith build? Confessor has more drip if I say so ;)
Just what i needed. Thank you!
Spending 10hrs just to follow every step in this video.
amazing video! thanks for all the work you put into it. not gonna lie it took me 4 hours to do the first hour of the video lmao
Killer Video man! Appreciate it.
i got a good tip for new players. start with the samurai ts the most balanced one to use, katana sword is also really strong with bleed loss.
I think the biggest thing for new players is the site of grace point to where you need to go , I tried playing when the game was new and it being my 1st time playing a dark souls game I was so confused on what I was supposed to be doing I didn't touch the game till months later. maybe I'm just really stupid
Great video, not sure if I missed it but where do you pick up the bleed grease? 49:28
Really good video bro! Set me up for success and makes the game so much more fun
Finally found the video I was looking for ❤❤❤❤
So im at 35:34 and my question is why havent you showm how to get the bell yet, simce they make the game a bit easier aswell, but aside from the map showing amd the things other people mentioned, this video has helped me very much thank you
This helped me alot thanks very much for this guide
Just started as with the Samurai class 🗡️🔪
Thanks for the tips.
Just starting thanks for the nitty gritty love that stuff
Ive quit this game 3 times already since it came out. This is a great vid, thanks!
Thank you for video, my comment would be what about Skills / Memory slots? You showed what to buy, but how to equip and use them I didn't understand.
Good vid tho.
Where did he pick up the blood grease I missed that part I think lol.
This is such a helpful video! Keep up the awesome work boss!
Why did the first big rune gain he had 40min into the video work for him, but not for me? The black knight on the horse just respawned when he fell off the cliff..
It has been patched I think
Great video. Really helped me get started.
This has been so helpful
Thank you for this guide :)
Best guide so far I have seen. Thanks
Great job!
Heeeey thank you for this guide 😭 I just started today due to the dlc drop and this has been really helpful
