For a blind or hard-of-hearing person like myself, the slower and clearer voice and especially the automated stop name announcements on the 7000 Series are enormously helpful. I wish WMATA would retrofit them all to do that. I find that the conductors' loudspeakers on the older cars can be distorted or the conductors might speak somewhat indistinctly (no offense to them of course).
Yeah it's hard to understand the announcements when the train operator speaks into the mic. When it's the automated voice it sounds clearer. I don't know why all train systems in the US haven't converted to the automated voice because it's a problem in LA and NY trains as well

If songs in C major are so common I wonder if making GLB in D major was an intentional choice to help make the song stand out even more among all the new music that’s been released this year 🤔
