I read a story where the day before the assassination happened, Lincoln had a dream where he walked into his house and found a coffin. When he asked his bodyguard who was in the coffin, he replied "You sir"
I heard his wife, Mary, dreamed he was killed a week before and begged him to stay inside. After a few days when nothing happened she decided the dream meant nothing.
Fun fact: The Titanic actually had another cause for its sinking outside of the binoculars issue. The ship was designed to not be able to be sunk by an iceberg collision and it very well could've survived the fateful collision if it wasn't for the fact that, during construction, one of the boilers exploded and ignited a fire that raged for a few days and reached a temperature that was very well high enough to make the steal plating of the hull weak and brittle. At the 0:47 mark image you can actually see that there were burn marks on the outside of the ship where the collision occurred showing the sheer severity of the fire.
how exactly did you "complete" that area, when you never found that weapon there in the first place? that just sounds like you skipped shit and were rushing through the game my dude.
@Kyle72817 I saw a documentary tat said it was unlikely they'd have used then or that using them probably wouldn't have made a difference, due to the weather and atmospheric conditions (the iceberg was basically invisible until it was too late)
@@duchenefan yep there were inquiries that tell of unusual weather phenomenon during that night, which is proof that a sea mirage was "camouflaging" the iceberg from afar, so of course the binoculars wouldn't change anything.
Buddy Holly joked with Waylon Jennings, "I hope your bus breaks down." Waylon joked back, "I hope your plane crashes." That bothered and haunted Waylon Jennings for the rest of his life.
The key to the binoculars on the Titanic sounds like post-crash justification to me. If the binoculars were so important, why didn't they just try to break the lock once they realized they didn't have the key? By all accounts, they wouldn't have seen the iceburg reguardless. It was a very calm sea, meaning you couldn't see the iceburg by the whitecaps.
Merry Christmas, Be Amazed, you never fail to give us interesting facts, good stories and even funny karma or revenges. I hope y'all have further happy holidays and a happy new year. With love and respect from Hungary
Buddy told Waylon “I hope your damn ole bus crashes.” And in turn Waylon said to Buddy “I hope your damn ole plane crashes.” So very sad. They were joking but it came true on the plane part.
I heard story that the first ironclads clash in history, the famous Battle of Hampton Roads (Monitor vs. Merrimack in US civil war) would not happen, as there was courier with message for Monitor not to leave its spot and not to go to the battle. But some 15 minutes before the courier arrived in the harbour, the Monitor already departed heading to the battle...
I remember hearing the story of martin Luther king I have a dream! It all started when he was a kid and wanted to play with white people but his parents didnt allow him to due to the laws but after martian said it everyone agreed that we should treat everyone fairly no matter the color!
the binoculars wouldn't change the outcome of Titanic's fate, as binoculars are meant to get a closer look at something AFTER it's been spotted not before, and giving that it was moonless night at the time, and that a sea mirage was cloaking the iceberg itself as well, binoculars won't make the difference anyway.
The suggestion that the iceberg which sank the Titanic would be seen earlier with binoculars is very dubious. The reason that the end of binoculars furthest from the eyes is so big, is to let in as much light as possible, but even so, the image is usually darker than if it is left unmagnified. For example, if a powerful set of binoculars magnifies an image 10 times, but the lens nearest the object is only 5 times the diameter of the fully-dilated pupil of someone's eye, the object will only appear a quarter as bright. If you use a high-powered telescope at dusk, you will see that, as you turn up the magnification, the image becomes more and more difficult to see until eventually, you cannot determine it at all. Without knowing the exact pair of binoculars involved, I can't be sure, but nearly all binoculars give a less-bright image in this way. The issue was not that the iceberg was too small to see -- it would probably have been visible in daylight from several miles away; the problem was that it was too dim to see, and binoculars would not help with that -- in fact a set of "anti-binoculars" designed to show the object smaller than real life would have helped, because the smaller image would have been brighter, but unless it was a special set with huge lenses, a normal set of binoculars would have hindered, not helped! BTW, I haven't checked, but IIRC, the issue was not that the previous officer took the key by mistake, but that he left his personal set of binoculars on the ship by mistake, and the new officer neglected to bring a set, possibly assuming that the ship would have a ship's set available. However, it was one piece of equipment forgotten for the maiden voyage.
I heard the Kokura story before. My grandmother worked in a bomb factory in Kokura during WWII. Basically, if it weren't for cloud cover, I wouldn't be here today.
there were plenty on the ship itself, just not near the person who was supposed to see shit like a fucking iceberg being in their way, the lookout assumed they could access the binoculars, but clearly cou;dn't when tried, then it was too late..... and BOOM!
I have a vague memory that London did have a type of "fire brigade" in 1666, but only for those with insurance. If you had an insurance, a stone/metal sign was placed on the house.
Another one I feel is worth adding in is Grouchy not joining Waterloo despite Napoleon's orders given Wellington's lines were already going to soon break before Blucher arrived with Grouchy aiding Napoleon, Napoleon HAD a chance to win waterloo and MAYBE the war. (if he captures both generals it COULD result in at least one giving in) However it was still a 4 front war against 90% of Europe. Unless Britain gives in and stops funding wars Napoleon was not winning.
The great fire of britain. When it happened there was a whole operation to stop it and water didnt work as the fire and the hot day made wood absorbtion of water not really a option. They had to use giant poles to deconstruct houses and move them away to stop fire speading to other buildings.
I did read that before sailing there was a fire in the coal room, as bitumin coal can self ignite. This fire caused the steel plates on the ship to turn red, before the fire being put out. As the fire was on the opposite side to the dock the passengers never saw it. This they believe weakened the steel rivets, and when it hit the iceberg the now weakend rivets popped allowing the steel panels to tear open.
Holy sh*t, I'm actually watching this from Kyoto! Feeling very lucky; there are so many amazing things to see that weren't destroyed by nuclear bombs.👌

He was reported to have these dreams through the war. I contend Lincoln believed too many had died for him to live.
Considering the fact that only one of his four sons would make it to adulthood, that's fair.
11:14 it’s about to move that way again unless the citizens take their country back
😮damn 😳 !!wtf ru 2say after ur own security said that Ur the Man who is in the damn coffin tho 😢😊

nah the ultimate choice is when you decide to go back in an area you already completed in a game, just to find a weapon that one shots everything
Ikr can totally relate XD
For real
I can't relate... never happened to me

That thumbnail is the perfect example. One of the biggest what ifs in history back in 1962.
It's largely believed that even if they had the binoculars, they wouldn't have seen the iceberg until it was too late anyway.
Yeah it was just too dark for the binoculars to even be useful.
The binoculars might have been made for that type of situation tho

On a boat that cost 7.5 million to build (166,000,000 adjusted for inflation now) it's sad they only had one pair of binoculars 😔

01:20 - Titanic Disaster
"Who knew a forgotten key could have doomed the Titanic? Such a tragic last-minute mishap."
the binoculars wouldn't change the outcome of Titanic's fate, as binoculars are meant to get a closer look at something AFTER it's been spotted not before, and giving that it was moonless night at the time, and that a sea mirage was cloaking the iceberg itself as well, binoculars won't make the difference anyway.
Watching this while opening gifts is a vibe 🎁
If we lost the Battle of Trenton, it's true we would be speaking British, but imagine losing in WW2...the endless possibilities...😅
The GDR minister declaring that the border between the GDR and BRD were to be opened "at this very minute":… Not a change, but a glorious mishap.
The suggestion that the iceberg which sank the Titanic would be seen earlier with binoculars is very dubious. Wait, "2nd of December", house was on fire and it was "a hot summer"? In December?? Or was it just real warm for them?
I'm guessing it was more along the lines of 'it had been a hot summer,' so there were little to no water reserves to draw from.
I have a vague memory that London did have a type of "fire brigade" in 1666, but only for those with insurance. If you had an insurance, a stone/metal sign was placed on the house.
I just realized that one of the president's looks... austrian or even... german or even the mix of the two
