the problem with the US speedskating is lack of investment in the sport... I think you only got about 4 olympic sized tracks in the US we got 15 in the Netherlands.

Rob Voncken yeah, despite our deep history of winning many medals including gold medals, and our greats like Irving Jaffe, Charles Jewtraw, Eric Heiden, Bonnie Blair, Chad Hedrick, Shani Davis, and etc

Buddy, we have 0, again "Zero" speed skating tracks in Czech republic and still look at Sabliková and Erbanová.
Even 20 big world gold medals are not enough to invest in the sport here.

Kramer was young at this point I believe it was early in his career, he has the world record for this distance I believe.
