Hi Risa! I’m 71 and still have oily skin!!!! Now the benefits to that is that we oily ladies look MUCH younger than our years. Thank you for showing us the products that work for us! ❤
I am so happy to hear you talk about "mature skin" not always being dry. I watch these videos and then I go out and buy and use everything they recommend for 30 year olds, because the tips and tricks for mature skin look greasy and heavy on me. Edit: I see you love some shimmers (as do I and I'm ten years older than you!). Would you consider using an older-looking model to show a glam shimmer look? Because you look 35! If I ever go to Vegas I will volunteer myself!!
I have mature skin that is very, very oily!! I love the Danessa Myricks balm for my oily skin. There are hardly any products for us with oily-mature skin, so I love this one for an all over foundation.
I'm thrilled that you tried the Thrive brand. I tried the mascara years ago when I kept seeing the ads pop up on the screen. I am a mascara junkie and want to try them all. So I caved and bought it. Wowzers! Best mascara I've ever tried. Removes so beautifully and makes me lashes super spider web looking. Now I am going to have to try the blush! I tried the Milani dupe and i did not think it was the same at all. Ill stick with Thrive Thank you for reviewing them. I feel like they're a brand that never really gets talked about.
Thrive has been a favorite brand of mine for several years. Beyond what you've mentioned, the pink shimmer Eye Brightener (Mieko) is my go-to for the inner corner and in the center of my lid - it gives a subtle effect that is beautiful on my cool toned 64 yo skin. It doesn't crinkle and is more of a shimmer than glitter, and it also doesn't transfer to my hooded lids. Their eyebrow gel is also very nice. It has a small spoolie which is great for applying even coats with no clumping. I have sparse brows so I do use a powder product first then add the brow gel to give more definition to the individual hairs. It ends up being a very natural look. One thing that's not mentioned enough is that Thrive Causemetics donates a portion of its proceeds to a number of charities that are important to women from all walks of life. A win-win! Thanks for this video Risa. You've included some great products that don't get the love they deserve. I appreciate when a content creator takes their viewers' opinions to heart. I look forward to the drugstore version!
Beautiful as always. Thank you for your videos. I use a drug store mascara for thickness, then I top it off with Thrive mascara, it works like a charm. Not sure if your can mix mascara, however I’ve done it often with no issues.
I have 2 holy grail concealers that are drug store. They are the NYX Bare with Me Serum and the Maybelline Age Rewind in the pink shade. I have combined the 2 for a brightening effect and for me, that look is my go-to for any dress-up affair. My favorite setting powders are the Maybelline Fit Me and Wet-N-Wild Photo Focus translucent. I do not use foundation. Instead, I use a tinted sunscreen, and my new favorite is the Neutragena UV-Tint. However, I do use foundation for special occasions, and that one would be the Wet-N-Wild Photo Focus Dewy finish (I'm oily too, but with a mattifying primer and as long as I set it, it will last through any special event that's not more than 8 hours). The Colour Pop That's Taupe palette is a great every day neutral with some awesome pops of glitter. My favorite blush and highlighter quad comes from LA Colors, and I get it at Dollar General. I'm sorry I don't know the name of the colors, but they are in the dusky rose family. LA Colors has a bronzer and hightlighter quad too that's good for every day. Hope this helps!
I’ve wanted to try Thrive products for awhile now, but because of all the hype I was hesitant. Now, because of you Risa, I’m going to try the, thanks to your recommendations! I’m excited mainly for the mascara and the blush..also the liquid liner looks promising. Thanks for yet another awesome video! 🎉❤🤗
Thanks Risa! A fab video with gorgeous products!. I’ve had normal combination skin all of my life until the last few weeks, I’m 55 now and no matter what I do glowy foundations are even clinging to my dry skin parts! X❤
Risa! You are one of a kind and so is your content. Always interesting and helpful to all of us beauty junkies! Especially enjoyed this video and learned a lot! I have the yummy skin, will try it as a primer. And I am excited to hear your review on Thrive. I want to try the mascara! Thanks again, and hope you had a nice Thanksgiving!
Another pair of neutral palettes that I think you would love are the Doll 10 vol 1 & 2 palettes. They have those traditional shimmers that we both adore and some gorgeous warm and cool toned neutral shades.
Risa, I'm 68 and still have oily skin so I wouldn't expect my skin to get drier as I age if I were you. I'm surprised how many older women have oily skin.
I'm 53 and fully menopausal. I was told that my skin would severely dry out once I hit menopause, but it never happened. I still have a hard time getting foundation to stay on my oily nose, lol! We just don't fit in their little boxes.
I love thrive mascara! I use lash serum so that with the mascara and I no longer need falsies! It also comes in blue. That with your blue eyes even just on your bottom lashes would be gorgeous!💄👁️👄
The Thrive Liquid Extensions mascara is my #1 holy grail 🙌 The *only* “con” is that I wish it gave my lashes a little more volume. I have a basket of about 20 mascaras 🙈 that I’ve collected over the last year because I’ve been wanting to find a mascara that gives more volume but to be honest I keep going back to Thrive because of how budge resistant it is yet how easily it removes too. If a mascara doesn’t come off as easily as the Thrive then what’s the point? 😅😅
I take my volumizing mascara, put a layer on first, then apply the thrive mascara on top. It gives me the volume that I need, but doesn’t budge with the thrive on top.
New drug store product that is truly astounding Covergirl clean fresh skincare color correcting serum moisturizer primer in color pink. I am 61 and I use this as my first product for makeup applications. I am not sure how old it is but it is new to me.
Once i get done with my tube of Hourglass Unlocked,I’m going back to Thrive. Hourglass is just getting to be ridiculously expensive and I think I can get a little bit of a price break from AutoShip with Thrive. One of my go-tos is the Lancome Cils Booster. It actually makes my lashes curly, and it protects and conditions them underneath my mascara.
I’ve had that visiart pallet for years and was using it every day till I dropped it and broke it. Thrice I also love. I use the champagne eye brightened as a high liter everyday. I’m 61 yrs old and have you ever tried DRMTLGY products? I use the SPF every single day for about 5 yrs now. I don’t use any foundation or BB cream. Just the spf and the glow I get on my skin is beautiful! I also own their pumpkin mask and night cream and gel eye masks. Love them!
Your eyes look magnificent today Risa!!! You didn’t even have lashes on today, I’m pretty sure. I will be trying that mascara as soon as I can. I’ve been trying lashes and waiting to actually put them on, but I have not had anything go right, even with the right tweezers. A good mascara might be my answer! I might even already have it somewhere, as I have several Thrive products I just never used. Thank you, Risa!! 🥰
I love the L'Oreal telescopic mascara range, I have all of them and I think they are great. I would love to try the Thrive one and will definitely consider purchasing when my current batch of L'Oreals run out!! I am trying to 'buy to replace' at the moment because i was jumping for everything I saw on youtube and it was getting outta hand in terms of my finances and my storage space!!! So my 'wish list' is well under way for the new year!! BUT ONLY if and when I NEED them!! xxx
Risa really makes great recommendations. The only product that I have used in the wrong way is the Yummie Skin...obviously it didn't work for me, but now with your demonstration I am going to try it again. I will check the rest of the products immediately. Thank you ☺️ Risa
I have used the primer with sunscreen as makeup with coloring powders. It is whitish but can be bronzed and cheek colored easily and since I'm Fair it gets compliments.
High end has been beating drug store for me lately. I cannot think of any drugstore products that I’ve bought that I think are worth the recommendation right now. But out of everything I’ve bought lately my absolute favorite products are the Bare Minerals, ocean Sunset glow cheek palette 😍 AND the Rose and Ben brushes!!
Have you tried the Yensa super serum silk foundation? I’m 45 and been doing makeup since my teens (makeup obsessed) lol and it’s hands down the best I’ve ever tried and I’ve tried a ton… ❤
Hello Risa I hope that you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Okay now I gotta try the thrive mascara and a few other products like their lipsticks I have very sensitive eyes now that I'm getting older my eyes constantly water I don't have a clue why they get quite watery all year long so hard to determine if it's allergies or not! Thanks for always great videos
Hi Risa, I’m 65 and have combo skin. I doubt my t-zone will get dry anytime soon. It’s been this way for decades…why would it change now?😂. I definitely need to try your hg’s. Thank you so very much for all the work you do for us❣️
I can't remember if you've shown this or not, but the Wine Down eye shadow palette by Milani. Love the colors for light eyes, can't get enough of the shimmer❤
Milani has a dupe for the thrive mascara. The ingrediants are almost exactly the same even the wand and color of outer packaging. I still think thrive is a bit better but its close and 40%less.
Also my mature skin is dry but too glowy doesn’t look good on my skin it emphasizes texture and I look worse .. but matte doesn’t either. I try go for natural finishes.. also my skin is sensitive and it’s a struggle with all these foundations that put alcohol and fragrance in them 😒

Notify the company. I have gotten a couple of tubes over the years that were not as good. They will work with you. I love Thrive Illene with City Beauty lip plumper over. City Beauty is my lip care holy grail. When I was young man lips were so dry I used Blistex cream over lipstick to avoid cracks in my lips.
Thanks Risa! A fab video with gorgeous products!. I’ve had normal combination skin all of my life until the last few weeks, I’m 55 now and no matter what I do glowy foundations are even clinging to my dry skin parts! X❤

The Thrive liquid lash extensions mascara is a GAME CHANGER!! I’ve bought it for everyone girl I know for Christmas during this sale. Loooove it ❤
I’m truly shocked!!! People say Milani has a dupe, but I’ve tried it and it’s NOT the same!
@@RisaDoesMakeup I tried the Milani, not even close imo
It really hurt my eyes. It was flaky maybe I got a bad (old) tube and I wanted to like it because I love the brand’s mission.
The only one u need 😊

Thrive eye brightner is my goto daily eye makeup. I love the mascara as well as it doesn't leave me raccoon eyed halfway through the day.

Yes Risa! I’m 47 with oily skin and it seems hard to find products for maturing and oily skin. So many products are just too greasy on me
Love Thrive mascara! It's the only product I've used from them the past few years
Try the brighteners. They are fantastic!

Nice. The mascara does make your lashes long & pretty.

Great vid Risa! So many great products that get overshadowed by new products.
The Thrive Mascara is my holy grail!!! I have naturally long eyelashes so I am extremely picky. Its AMAZING!!!
Love your videos, enthusiasm, sweet and warm personality. Thanks for sharing
Thank you Risa for all the tested by you reviews of beauty products! SO very much appreciated! 70 in Idaho 🎉
Thrive became a favorite of mine too a few years ago when I first tried the mascara and eye brightener. Now I need to try the blush.

51 year here and oily as ever … Nose is such a mess .
I’m 70 this year and still have very oily skin and believe it or not I still breakout.
I’m so curious about yummy skin now!! This was such a fun video. I loved the rediscovery of the Viseart. I got the mini and it great for travel
The BB corrector stick is fantastic. It layers beautifully too.

Viseart is based in California. Not Paris. They've been doing foreign branding for over 5 years. Shady practice in my opinion, but it is what it is...
From my research the owner is American but the products are made in Paris. 🤷♀️
@leonie666999 I checked mine, and it says made in France, but it is several years old.
I never even see ppl talking about thrive and Victoria Beckham?
Maybe that’s why I get the request so often? People are interested, but I guess “influencers” aren’t? 🤷♀️
