Just goes to show u alot of people just have gear syndrome. Any new camera packs so much features and a powerful sensor. Any new camera that is in the 1000$ range is good and there are no bad ones, it all depends on your needs. Obviously u will not use this camera for professional work but for personal use of photography and videography (especially for youtube or instagram) this is an insane camera. I know alot of people who got surprised when they took something like sony A7S III in their hands which is a 4k$ camera and their videos looked bad. Its all about basic principles of composition, lightning, angles etc. You can make some amazing videography with this because its all about the person holding the camera, sure more expensive camers will be more consistent in work, but for the entry camera this is a beast. Some of the most iconic shots and photos were made with gear that was released decades ago, so a 2021 camera from someone like Fuji with a 4k ability will be amazing.
Great video! As a Fuji purist myself, I can never understand why people shy away from the platform just because it’s “not full frame.” Fuji makes the best cameras for shooters, and even my aunt who is sponsored by Leica now says she will gladly go back to Fuji if they gave her a call. Keep it up, man!! Subbed!
XE4 + 27MM 2.8 FUJI pancake lens is a killer combo. It's an FFE of 40mm so slightly more than the 35mm mentioned in the video. Either way, great for contextual shots. Couple it with some retro film lenses and adaptors it amazing, Zeiss, Mamiya and helios work great. Great video too, thanks for sharing! 🎉
I’m so grateful I picked up my Xe4 when it could still be had for retail price! I’ve enjoyed taking short breaks from film shooting and just taking the little Fuji with me. Also, it is LOADS more fun than my Sony A7rII!
Love this!! I own an XE4 and going to Japan later this year! So excited to use it there. Just wondering, at 12:00, you showed the RAW processing feature - does that only work when you shoo tin RAW? or could you also do it with JPEG photos and then process that?
Ohh I’m so excited for you! That’s a great question! I don’t have my camera with me to test it right now but I’m pretty certain you have to be shooting in RAW to!
Got my X-E4 in november and could not put it down since, can't imagine using a different camera now. Everything bigger will feel wrong from now on lmao
May i know what step rings you're using for the filter? Is that a 82mm filter? Tryna get a filter on my 27mm pancake too but I'm not sure what size to get.
Yeah it is an 82mm! I had to stack a bunch lol. There is a bunch of different ways to stack them, I would just look for one that can go from 27mm to the biggest and then stack one or two (or three lol) more on to get to 82
Ahaha deciding the next camera to get can be a never ending battle. I'm sure no matter what you go with you're going to take amazing pictures regardless.
The standard for talking in focal length has always been 35mm, in the digital world known as full-frame. His 27/2.8 pancake lens is considered a 40mm full-frame equiv. And not 35mm, as he says in the video. (that'd be 23x1.5) This is what he means with crop-sensor.

I agree with this so much. Understanding the concepts will take you much further than fancy gear will. P.S. I love your profile pic
Love the way you share insights about your camera choice while taking us on a journey through Japan! Very enjoyable watch, great shots 👌
Thank you so much!

Thank u so much! 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I’m so glad I went with it even tho I was unsure.

I feel the same!
12:13 damn I didn’t know that till now 🤯🤯
Thanks for that!
Crazy right??
I love the train photo with the motion blurred city. That's a crazy image!
Thank u so much! I was stoked with how it turned out
Convinced me to buy it!
Oh rad! I hope u like it as much as I do!
The 27mm lens would be the equivalent to 40mm, 23mm would be 35mm full frame.
Yep, hence why the X100 series uses a fixed 23mm.
its possible to put different lens? thanks im looking to buy the camera
what camera did you use for the vlog sections on this video?

Nice video! What is the video itself shot on? Thanks
3:20 thats wrong… you have to do 27mm x 1.5 = 41mm not 35 (:

I’m with you! It’s so powerful for such a small little camera
The 27mm on a Fujifilm camera is equivalent to a 40mm on a fullframe camera.
More please!
🤝
Amazing video, just a quick question.
Are all the video clips from the X-E4 as well?
Thank you! Most of the video is filmed on a Sony a7siii, but there are a couple clips from the x-e4. They’re labeled or on the super wide lens!
dope video bro
Thank you sm!

Thanks for the info!
Any leads where I can find a brand new Fujifilm X-E4 here in Tokyo?
I wish I knew better! I found a list of some of the top camera stores there on google but didn’t get the chance to stop in any
3:54 That deer is taking a piss xD
Awesome video!! Just as I thought I was decided on the XS20, I watched this and now I’m not sure again😂

@@DanielsimsSteinerhahah thanks very much! Fully settled on XE4 now;!
CLAPPING FOR BEAU!!!!!!!
👏🏼
oh baby

It’s not a cropped sensor but a APS-C sensor with the lenses designed FOR that sensor. This means there is no cropping.

Too bad there's no more Kodachrome to put into it
