Call me old school, but if I get takeout, I either phone it in and go pick up, or go in and wait. The food is always hotter, orders are more accurate. Workers don't treat me like an a-hole for having a large order and messing up drive thru times... A lot of these problems are solved if you treat carryout as carryout and just go into the establishment, in my experience. Delivery or drive thru orders? May the force be with you 🙏😎
So you go to a fast food burger joint and you’re upset because the wrapper and bag has grease on it and the car smells of it? Then WTH are you going there for? That’s the best part!! It’s potatoes deep fried in fat and burgers dripping in their own fat. You expect it to be dry? Get a grip. This ain’t no vegan salad joint; it’s fried food. It’s supposed to be unhealthy and greasy and delicious. 🍔 🍟
I rarely use takeout; I prefer going to the restaurant and dining in. I remember one time I was driving thru North Dakota and ordered lunch at a McDonald's drive-thru in Grand Forks. I was in a hurry so I decided to eat it while driving. Once I got back on I-29 and opened up the bag, I found out that they had given me someone else's order! By this time I was 5 miles up the road and decided to eat what they gave me instead of turning around. I have not ordered from any McDonald's drive-thru since.
I have. I gave the person at the drive thru my order, and not only did she ring it up wrong, she also read it back wrong. I told her that it was wrong, she ignored me, forcing me to go to the window. I told the guy who was making my drinks what the correct order was, she told him to ignore me and handed me the wrong order. I had to go inside to complain to the manager during lunch rush about it, all because the person at the drive thru refused to do her job. Btw, that was the one of many issues I had with them before I stopped going there.
Most of these complaints are about using delivery service that does not use hot containers but is instead just some random driver with say "Door Dash" picking up your food and then delivering it! So the complaints are just stupid because several factors go into that. Let's say I order from Wendy's using Door Dash! I don't go there myself. So Wendy's makes the order. Sure they put it under heat lamps but it is still starting to get colder as it is not freshly made like when you go there. 2. Now the Door Dash Driver shows up several minutes after the food has been made. 3. They pick up the order and have to get it which may take a little bit of time (no hot bags at all!) Then they get in their Car, may wait a few minutes to answer a text, then deliver it to you several miles away! Of course that food is gonna be colder!
my add on to this list is Buffalo Wild Wings, at least in my area. I've ordered take out a handful of times and go around the pick up time and it's not ready, and literally have to wait an additional 20-30 mins. They weren't/aren't even busy....so my mind is boggled why it would take additional time from the time I scheduled a pick up, when there's hardly anyone there in the restaurant.
You must live near me bc the Buffalo Wild Wings here does the same thing. I waited for my order as I looked out across the sea of the near-empty restaurant. I went to the restroom, and came out, but it still wasn't ready. I'm not a BWW fan bc of that.
I like to go into a store or restaurant, make an order, and take it home. My experience has been that drive-thru customers have a serving priority over the in-store ones regardless of the order's timing, which is very annoying.

I live in the Philippines, with all the above fast food, and equivalent delivery services, like Food Panda and Grab. But we have the opposite problem. Your cold drinks, won't be. The ice in your drinks will be melted, and forget about ice cream. Guaranteed ruined, just because you ordered it. They could have delivery drones, and that still wouldn't help. Don't expect this delivery concept to work, get off your ass, put on your pants, and come out, if you want to eat good food.
The Burger King mobile app shenanigans pre-date mobile apps. I was a manager of a McDonalds with a Burger King next to us. Several times i witnessed buses pulling into their parking lot. The doors on the store would quickly be locked. The buses would then come to our store where I greeted them with open arms. Yeah, we worked our butts off at these times but we also made a big profit that could have been BK's.
I don't blame any place for refusing to serve an entire bus load! I worked at Wendy's as a Senior in High School and the one thing we hated was the bus pulling up! Why, one it was unfair to other customers! 2. I worked the Grill and often would have to turn on the Second Grill at the time (meant more cleaning later) to quickly cook the burgers and serve everyone from the drive-thru and keep those in the building from getting upset cause 80 people just walked in and spoiled it for everyone else! line out the door and they were always the messiest those bus people!
@@dublindog8038 Picture yourself on that bus. Long hours on the road and you see you're about ready to eat and suddenly the close sign goes on. In the future, which store will you go to the one that slammed the door in your face or the one that took your order. Yes, handling a bus is not easy which is where the experience of the manager comes into play. You move your strongest people into their best positions. You get the grill area to kick into mass production and you both coordinate everyone and jump in where needed. You also know when to call for help. I was working third sift New Year's Eve and we were the only store open for miles. 10-15 Minutes into the New Year, I saw a line of cars disappearing into the distance. I momentarily left my crew of 3 to hold down the fort. Called the store manager who called in the other managers in for an emergency shift. She also arrived to help. The line did not end for the entire night, and we only paused service for about 15 minutes to change over to breakfast. It was a glorious battle which we won.
I guess what we can take from this is that all fast food restaurants suck. If it's such a problem why do people keep going back? It's been my experience that it depends on the employees working there. Some are good, some not so good.
pretty much this. There's 2 BK's in my immediate area, the one a little farther from me never really screws my orders, but the one closer to my house has screwed up so many times...one time they made a chicken jr with 4 chicken nuggets
There WAS a KFC close to use in Glendale (CA). It's not there anymore, because they CONTINUOUSLY ran out of chicken. They are closed now, and it's yet another Starbucks. I can't imagine how one can run a FRIED CHICKEN restaurant and run out of chicken.
My problem with KFC is, missing items. You order things online or in the store and you literally have to check for what is missing from the order. I have had it happen with ordering from the restaurant itself in person. You have to take everything out of the bag to check if anything is missing in the store and this has happened at more than one location. With the delivery, it’s the same thing and if that’s bad enough, having your delivery cancelled is another. Out of the blue on multiple occasions, you find your order cancelled after waiting for it. No explanations or anything. Then there is the issue with bags of soda not being full. It’s either 1/2 to 3/4 full on multiple occasions. Then I ordered their apple pastry and it was 99% dough and a sliver of apple or apple sauce. The trouble is, no one is listening at headquarters. You get a refund with an “I’m sorry”, but it happens again. Then when you call up AGAIN, it’s like you are trying to scam them with the multiple complaints. HELLO, it’s not me, it’s the staff being inattentive to checking the orders before they go out. A proper way to do it, is to have tickets from the various areas making the food. Then you’re breaking down how many items you have to check for on the list. If something is missing that ticket is then put aside and the area responsible for the shortage is to be notified and the error corrected. On another chains mistakes was Portillo’s with their drive through. I got the order and I was missing the milkshake. A simple slip up, but not with this one. When I told her I was missing the milkshake, she wanted the bag back. Then she was taking the bag apart, looking for the missing milkshake. I was stunned, as who would put a milkshake in a bag with the food. They don’t have screw on lids and without that, the shake would be all over the bag for one and for two, a shake would be larger than then the other items. She should have looked at the receipt instead as the shake was listed and she had just handed me the bag only seconds ago.
Don't do take-out!! I only do dine-in or drive through to eat in the parking lot. If I do the take-out, it's only because I have to finish a phone call.
Just ordered McDonald’s today. Only issue was I got a Dr. Pepper to drink and it tasted like there wasn’t enough syrup from the machine. Tasted like plan seltzer.
One time I ordered Taco Bell via Uber Eats and I ordered a Nachos Bellgrande with extra beef no beans and I got no beef extra beans and no other toppings.
Taco Bell has ordering issues…even at the self service kiosk’s, layer and layer upon layer of screens and options are bothersome, if time is of importance …KFC is terrible as to its pot pies continuously being available…
KFC is pissing me off to the point I won't go back. Their app refuses to let me redeem my rewards. Also, they will send me an email about a good deal, but when I try to get that deal, they say the location near me doesn't honor it.

Yes they do make you pick it up inside the store. I worked for two years as a delivery driver for Uber Eats and 3/4 of the time, they wouldn’t have the food ready or if it was made, it was made incorrectly.

100% Agree🎉😊
I'm calling BS on the Wendy's complaint. I've never had a problem with Wendy's in any way. It's still my favorite go to for fast food.
Hahahah loo
Wendy's doesn't even try in the Midwest.
It's good, and the new breakfast stuff is great but its expensive as fluck! I'd rather go to a restaurant if im spending $20 for fast food.

Food delivery drivers frequently fail to zip their insulated delivery bags closed, which completely defeats the purpose of using them.

There is an easy way to solve this problem. Talk to a person when you order your food.

Taco bell has ruined every meal i ordered from them
In the Detroit area, KFC seems to stop cooking an hour and a 1/2 before closing. I guess this cuts down on waste.

I've been using the app for Taco Bell and there have been way less mistakes than when I used to order at the drive thru
McDonald's leaves meat in a warming tray, while a DQ burger, for example, is cooked when you order. Cooked when you order will always be hotter.
A lot of these seem rather isolated. Of the chains I've been to on the list. I haven't had any of these issues
