I'm going to grab some gold flakes Friday, do you put them on wet clear coat or wait until it's tacky? And, can I use polycrylic or do I have to use adhesive specific to gold leafing?

Hi Paige I added the gold flakes while the clear coat was still wet. I think polyacrylic should be fine 😊 have fun crafting!

Unfortunately they were a limited release last Christmas called ‘Baubles’ but you may be able to find it on the creative traders Facebook group if you put up a post that you’re looking for it. 😊

Hi sorry this was the Bauble Mould and it was a limited edition Christmas release from IOD last year but you could try the Creative Traders Facebook page to see if anyone is selling them or some businesses may be selling resin castings of them that you could purchase.

Simply beautiful! Do you have to seal Dixie Bell chalk paint? If so what do you use to seal?

It’s best if it’s sealed. I often use a clear coat to seal or clear wax. 😊

Oh dear, those vintage christmas bell ornaments were worth a bunch! Sorry you took them apart. Oh! Thanks for the tips for using the patina paint and spray. I'm waiting for mine to be delivered! I'll be on the lookout for some bells! I do wish i had purchased the Baubles mold!

I LOVE your work so much!! How do you keep the red chalk paint from smearing when you clear coat it? Every time I add Big Top or another clear coat to anything I have painted red, it smears. Is it a matter of dry time or technique (or likely user error as I am very new to this)? Thank you!!

Thanks so much. That is a pain and I get it sometimes. Definitely give your paint lots of time to dry and apply very little pressure with your brush when applying the clear coat. Also don’t over work it. You could also do a spray coat to seal instead 😊

The Bauble ornament video is what got me to subscribe your channel when your first did it & it's still my favorite, but I really do like all the others in this video as well.
