  • From 78rpm Perfect 07-08-07 - So Rare by Carl Ravell & his Orchestra (Carl Ravazza), vocal by Carl Ravazza, recorded in NYC June 4, 1937. This was the first commercial recording of the song.
    This music is sourced from Rick Colom’s personal archive of several thousand tracks which he had recorded directly to CD-R from his own 78rpm discs (the labels were not scanned). No digital noise reduction procedures or EQ adjustments have been performed on the audio.

    Enchanting treatment of this Jerry Herst-Jack Sharpe beauty! While I do enjoy the famous JD orch renditon, with its overpowering '50's influence, I tend to prefer the earlier versions of this special tune.
