Just remember that being an "expert" has become synonymous with perfection and having a master level of knowledge.
Which is a total BS, because no matter how well you know your craft, there are always new things to learn and adopt.
    *Learning by doing*

True. Even the more you know the more you feel you don't know. I humble myself and I keep on learning because there are a lot of things need to learn. Learning is a continues process.

I love this, Vanessa! I am further identifying my niche because of my RUclips videos. Due to the hate I've received on my most recent video, I've realize that Etsy sellers may not really be a part of my niche like I originally thought. Everyone who understood my video was open to the idea I was proposing... moving off the Etsy platform, even though it's HARD work to create a website/generate traffic yourself... Due to the two very different reactions towards my video, I'm realizing I want to work with the people who are willing to put the hard work, not the ones that waste time crying over Etsy's changing policies, but don't think taking matters into their own hands is possible for them... no more Etsy content for me, more content about up-leveling and taking control of your business. Posting content has definitely gotten me closer to defining my niche.

I don't think I'm an expert and yet I'm seeing people who are making youtube videos on Etsy selling who have a fraction of my sales! But I always think I'll get negative feedback if I start bragging of my 1000s of sales. Its so true what you say that its just our mindset!

I am so glad that you didn't niche down from the beginning. Your earlier videos have so much value. The social media videos are on trend so there is a good chance that they will be popular, but so many people do those videos. Your transparency and honesty in your earlier videos for viewers gives them a chance to get to know. Gives people a chance to build a trust. Cause I've caught you early I have subscribed and learned a lot and trust you vs clicking on those social media channels I don't follow them. I click for info for what I need. I thought that your earlier videos were pretty niche from my perspective I see growth. Your earlier videos are good grounding and take off videos. I see you building a relationship with your viewers, which I personally think is so important than videos that just had info with not much personality behind it. Love this video amazing content.

I enjoy watching your videos because of your energy and transparency. I've been a consultant for over 20 years and there is never a day that I don't learn something new. I believe everyone has something to offer that you could benefit from no matter what level of expertice you are at. Its refreshing to watch a video of someone that brings honesty to the table, because we are bombarded by so many BS experts claiming to make over night success and flaunting leased Lambos to impress people into buying some BS course which offers nothing more than common sense advice. Thanks again for your great videos and for being so true with your audience.

Great information Vanessa!! I have struggled with this very thing, who am I to be putting out these words of inspiration? Some of it is my own experiences but a lot of it is what knowledge I’ve acquired through osmosis through my learnings of others. So thank you for this because it was right on time. I’ve gotten lots of feedback from my audience about how my daily posts inspire them or how they connected to the message that day and I need to continue to listen because it’s apparent i am doing what I’ve set out to do and that brings me pure joy. Always enjoy your videos!! Keep it up!!

The need to be "an Expert" is relative to Your role with your client. (Coach, Advisor, Trainer, Consultant, etc.) The Best Coaches are Experts at asking the right questions, Listening and Guiding others to finding Their Own Best answer. If You are the "Subject Matter/Industry" expert, there's a good chance you're leaning more towards a Trainer/Consultant/Advisor role, these are secondary roles for Coaching. Understanding the difference often eliminates this type of self doubt. The most important thing is to be real and honest with Yourself and with your clients.
    I hope that's helpful.
I want to say Thank you and Great job to you Vanessa. I was introduced to you last week from a client who liked your content. After watching a few videos, I suggested she subscribe to your channel, keep watching and actively engage.
Good Stuff, keep it up, Everyone benefits from quality content like yours.

Excellent! Thank you for posting this. You have really encouraged me. I have years of knowledge from my experiences of being on TV singing and winning competitions to being an actress on screen and stage and still never give myself credit for my years of accomplishments enough to believe I can coach others. It’s really sad how many of us are literal experts but feel like imposters while others have significantly less knowledge and experience but own what they do have. I want their confidence. Clearly, I must get my own. I am going to get my own even if I have to watch this video everyday. You have truly encouraged me. You Rock!

Probably the biggest take away from this video is investing in myself. Hey Vanessa , I am digital marketer . Even though I have 10 years of experience in this field I never started RUclips channel with my personal name . I suggested to many people to start RUclips channels because of more potential in it and all of them got good results like more leads from RUclips videos once optimised properly . So recently I started RUclips channel and because this is this first time I talk on camera got shy , difficult in talks and how to communicate etc . I use to watch your videos regularly from some days which will give more boost to me for making more good videos and I use to watch sunny videos as well . Both of your videos will help more . And in this video I learned other thing we need to make video shorter and combined later that will be more
Easy without wasting time .so that we can end up with less shots of videos before final one .

Hi Vanessa! Loved your insights. ❤️ I’m slowly building my traction on LinkedIn and my YT channel jumpstarted that reach.
I have a mentor @ work who told me that it doesn’t matter if you are an Expert or a SME. I was getting lots of interactions as my content was authentic & my audience easily get into the “ME TOO!!” bubble. Times like this, authenticity and strong people relationship skills can topple all the certifications/degrees a lot of people has but aren’t able to use to provide value.

This is ME!!! I was starting to write a book about voice coaching but I keep buying books and courses on the same topic yet never feel entitled enough to teach others about this. This video is the cure for peeps like me, Vanessa! Btw, are you based in Canada? I was having a discussion with one of my students on the pronunciation of the word "associate". I speak American English and have only heard it said assoSHiate, but my friend says her British friend says assoSiate and you did in the video, too, so I was thinking maybe it's the British style...including Canada. Anyway, I'll follow your advice 100%!

Thank you so much for this video, I have been struggling with imposter syndrome for quite some time now, I am a marketing coach but I worry because I don’t have any experience, degree or literally anything for credibility. I have been sharing entrepreneurship, marketing and social media tips on TikTok and have grown a following (it’s not that much 7000) over the last 9 months. Many business owners have been thanking me for sharing tips and educating them, I want to start offering my first coaching package, but I know absolutely nothing. I’m still learning how to create a coaching contract, invoicing, learning how to be more organise and creating resources for my Beta Clients that I start working with in a few weeks. I hope a year from now I can look for this comment and have an amazing story to tell on how the experience was

I work on cars. What makes me sick is so many rookie fraud car channels that are faking it, and made it. I need to try the niche down thing and break up my channel.
