He is, but him driving around for miles on the beach during turtle nesting season is definitely not good, and he could be ruining other turtle nests. The weight of the car can do serious damage to the eggs hidden under the sand. In addition, it packs the sand making it harder for baby turtles to dig themselves out, and the car tracks in the deep sand running parallel to the water can hinder the baby turtles from reaching the ocean, as they get trapped in the track and cant climb out or are stuck there for a while making them easy prey for the birds.

I was just thinking about that. it would be awesome if he can make a video about snorkeling. yes I know there are some experienced snorkelers here on the channel but I am an absolute noob. I live in the Netherlands at the east side of the country with no actual good swimming water so no real space to practice. but once a year I go to Aruba and go snorkeling those Caribbean waters. at least I try.... I only go for shallow waters because I don't know how to float comfortable without having to spit water or when there are chorals underneath me, take a deep dive and keep my breath to watch natures miracles. I'm a total noob but Brody's videos keep me so friggin pumped to achieve at least a 10th of his swimming capability.

Marcus Prothero you can tell it’s in the outback because of the landscape and if you watch a few of his videos you’ll find out it’s not the Great Barrier Reef but rather the ningaloo reef. The only city or town on that neck of the woods is Exmouth :)

It was actually back in 2013 when they figured it out. They tagged a few baby turtles. The turtles reach the ocean, and spend most of their adolescent years travelling in seaweed beds near the surface for safety. They stay away from continental shelves, where the predators are. (well, the surviving ones do)

I was lucky enough to watch loggerhead turtles hatch like this on my 40th Birthday and Honeymoon on Kefalonia, Greece . It was amazing and man not one of them little dudes would have not made it. At least get them in the water. They follow the moonlight and will always come back to the exact spot they was born. Deffo do not turn your phone light on.

Love how you saved these turtles without touching them, I've worked with turtles myself in greece for multiple years. Most people get overwelmed by emotions and want to help them by trowing them in the sea where they will just drown because they are not strong enough yet. Also most of your story is correct, but the females don't nest on the exact same spot thats kind of a myth it does happen occasionaly, but its more on the same beach or even area since we had nests on a different island from the same (tagged) turtle. This island was still in the same bay tho. Also they don't nest every year, but 2 to 3 years but can lay up to 3 nests in 1 season.

There's actually lots of info on the web in relationship to using trackers on sea life. Sometimes it is harder to find due to the fact that scientists don't want the general public to know where certain protected species go. Not trying to be "that guy" but just go Google it, I can't link anything on here and it's interesting info.

I've seen a documentary about where the turtles go. Some often hang out around a drift wood or any mass of seaweed floating in the middle of the ocean for years. They create a little sub ecosystem with loads of other species spending their lives by this "island" its super cool.
