“Was in danger of being put down because she appears to be aggressive” cuts to cutest most non aggressive bark ever. The staff really needs to be better educated if they are making life/death calls of another living creature.
It’s just based on her breed! In this case Her demeanor was literally nervous and anxious not aggressive.. pitties have the worst reputation due to irresponsible owners and the media, when in fact if treated properly they are super loyal, affectionate and wonderful dogs
I suspect that the statement applies to the potential adopters in addition to the staff assessing. If the dog appears aggressive to them (and yah, there's already a bias with the breed with the average person viewing the dogs), then they will less likely choose her, and then be eventually put down. Of course, the staff are not helping if that's how they label her. But I think if they brought in Caesar, it shows that they don't think the dog is too aggressive and they want the best for the dog, and they are literally getting the education from him in the video. I don't know these people, but they wouldn't be there working at it if they didn't love the animals.
Have you ever worked at a pet shelter? I’m not sure what it’s like in America, but a large majority of pet shelters in Australia are predominantly volunteer and donation run. Feel free to donate your time to your local pet shelter before passing criticism.
Shirley, the USA relies on volunteers too but what does that have to do with Kollin Hamilton's correct statement that all staff at shelters, humane societies and veterinarian societies need to follow Cesar Millan's or some equally effective dog behavior modification method?? I've been to humane society outlets and the staff had no clue how to treat a scared dog. They squatted down and say 'it's okay..it's okay baby" giving eye contact. They didn't understand that you do not approach a scared dog with eye contact. Shirley that's your first lesson for today. As Cesar say's "no talk no touch no eye contact". That's how you approach a unstable dog. Okay? Now c'mon back for lesson 2.
KOLLIN HAMILTON that would be great but most public shelters like here in NYC relies on volunteers. They don't get proper training and on top of that the animals are so stressed out from ebing locked in cases. It's even worst for senior dogs who were surrendered by owners because they're old.
I watch a lot of animal shows to do with pets and I feel as if a lot of animal shelter workers don't have a clue what they are doing. That dog is aggressive? Are you insane? Its a puppy in a cage having to listen to other scared dogs bark and cry all day. Its absolutely terrified and the bark is nervousness not aggression.
you watched a 2 minute clip. You have no idea how this dog is acting off screen. Its also edited to show probably the very end of what was hours of working to get this dog to be ok with male interaction.
You are incorrect. Aggression can be CAUSED by those things, but a dog can be afraid and not aggressive. A dog can be nervous and not aggressive. A dog can be excited and not aggressive.
with all the years of Cesar's service, I wonder how many dogs he has saved from being put down, that includes the dogs that were saved by people who were influenced by him ❤ what a truly wonderful gift you are to the world Cesar!
"Puting down the dog bec of aggression problems" really. This dog has 0 aggression, she just nervous.. it got me thinking. How menny dogs have been putt down, bec of wrong "reading" at this shelter.🤔
Breza Illyria unfortunately, many good dogs are put down even pregnant ones. When a shelter has no more room they put a lot to sleep unless a rescue group gets to them first. Some look like they are agressive but its really the stress and fear of being in a cage and surrounded by other stressed out dogs.
@@Moss_piglets is too bad ,dogs are dying and to adopt its a headache and expensive that's why people go for breeders less 1000 questions and papersless
It didnt seem like the staff belived that but the potential adopters who see the dog barking will assume its aggressive and wont adopt it. It is a shelter and there isnt a lot of space, if the dog isnt getting adopted and the reason people don't adopt is because they think the dog is aggressive than they will most likely be put down. The staff knows the dog isnt aggressive otherwise they wouldn't have let a staff member into that cage with the dog.
Cesar Millian has saved so many innocent lives from being put down and from being labeled as aggressive. Thank you Cesar Millan, the world needs you. So glad to see that your sons are working with you. 🙏
I wish Cesar would do a show where he just goes around the US to help shelter dogs find new homes by helping them with their issues that make people not want to adopt them, and then when someone wants to adopt the dog, he gives them a lesson on how to continue to help that dog.
Wow. This was amazing. No gimmicks. Just respect and love and it worked. Maybe we all have become such a sick society that we don’t realize what would make this world better.
These women are putting way to much pressure on that poor dog!... That lady was holding her by the collar... Just live her alone and she will come to you when she is ready...
That's very helpful. A friend of mine has a dog that's distrustful of men, she even bit me once, I didn't react at all because she's small and it didn't hurt, but then I did the follow your nose technique and stayed in my own space, let the dog come to me and she became much more docile in a few minutes. Now we're buddies and she doesn't lash out at males. Thanks again Cesar.
Actually, it really is easy. This dog was never aggresive. She was just scared. She never even showed teeth and that means that she was not aggressive. Trust me, when a dog is aggresive you'll know. These women completely overreacted.
It's always these weirdos that make the situation worse, addressing everything the dog is doing with verbal correction and adding stress. I don't understand how they don't get what they're doing is bad. I rarely meet calm dog owners and almost always in those situations you have a dog is hyper active, stressed and poorly behaved.
My sister needs Caesar in her life! I wonder how much it costs! My sister's french bulldog Winston is such a sweetheart but he's just really anxious and sometimes that comes out in aggression 😭 he's not good around strangers and sometimes when he's in a strange house with too many people even though he knows those people he gets really scared and can lash out aggressively when someone tried to touch him 😭 it's a shame we don't have dog trainers like this in the UK 😭
There has to be one good trainers in your area. There is a brilliant one in my wee town. Sorts out any dog behaviours that need addressed. Trying searching on line or ask about? It is not fair on your Dog to be in that state of nervousness.
@@phoenixrising5088 we've tried so many trainers, and they're either too extreme or too soft, we need someone that's going to be able to handle him so we don't have to worry about him around kids as me and my husband want to start trying soon, but we won't be able to visit my sister incase Winston's aggressive towards the baby

look up soi dogs. It's a rescue in Thailand that is no kill. And it has to build new massive kennels on a regular basis cause they rescue 100's more than they can ever possibly rehome.
That is awesome but I hate dog meat trade and I wish that every human that has eaten a dog or cat would go to hell because it was so cruel and inhuman to just use pets as food. I would rather starve than to see a dog or cat be eaten.
Team Ender Do you eat any type of meat? If so then I think it's hypocritical, just because not all animals are seen as 'pets' doesn't make taking their lives any less cruel.
Ears back, eyes slightly back, tail down. Where is the aggression?? The dog shows all the signs of being insecure. Timid, nervous. Thank god cesar was there to help.
I wish the US gov't would pass tougher laws regarding animal ownership. Make it tougher for owners to just abandon their pets when they are no longer wanted. There are so many dogs in shelters that most are killed make room for incoming animals. All dogs and dog owners should be registered. Animals spayed/neutered. We wouldn't have this problem if people are just more responsible.
VisualAddict if it is tougher to give them up for adoption, more people will kill them. Give a safe place for owners too. What if an owner decides it cant or dont want to take care of it. What do they supposed to do? Make up yalls minds. Do u want the animal safe or kept safe
