Property owners should foot 100% of the bill. The river looks great after the dam broke and nature took back over. The only reason it is a big deal to rebuild is that there are a lot of rich people that bought inflated properties and now can’t sell them.
Thats not true they have had those properties for decades some almost a century, and they want to be able to, boat, swim, and ski on it. It is a lifestyle. It is also not actually good for the wildlife either because they are so used to having a lake and with cloudy, running water it is harder for them to thrive. Also, they are putting in a new dam, and have already begun construction. DAM RIGHT VOTE FOR
These houses are real estate investments that deserve the loss. When they bought they would have been informed of the dam’s failure date which I’ll assume was 1990. And all that concrete could be used in the wall Abbot’s building
I like Dunlap because it’s always been a pretty lake and with a great fish population but they somehow let the surrounding area hold a monopoly on the waterfront allowing no public access but people with no access will still have to pay taxes for this dam
How does the lake hurt the river? When the lake is full the river flows with the same capacity it would if there was no lake there. Having a lake as a reservoir to open when the river is low due to drought is actually a good thing.
It’s a myth that make environmentalists believe a false conception due to some northern lakes with salmon which actually need natural river flows but almost all dams help the ecosystem

Leave the river alone, it’s looks better without the dam
Absolutely.
@@jacobs9474 exactly, that would be amazing
Looked better without the dam tbh
Lake access no trespassing private property ? Really

@@pickletree890 the natural fish don’t want cloudy stagnant water. The transplanted fish might like it.
