Viacom had this weird fascination with presenting their logos after long periods of blank screen. Don't know why they did it.
There is a video uploaded by TheVintageTVArchive of the credits of “I Love Lucy”, and it has a long pause in between, as well. I think longer than here.
Yes, it’s much longer. I just counted, and it was 35 seconds of black screen.
I can see that the PAL version of Viacom is off-center for obvious reasons. Heck, two tones of blue for Viacom isn't as intimidating as its PAL video format.
