Grant the serenity of mind to accept that which cannot be changed; courage to change that which can be changed, and wisdom to know one from the other.
I start with this to whittle out the chaff, then I remember it will all be alright in the end. If you are good and you don't lie you don't have to remember anything. Be grateful for provision from the universe.

This does not seem possible since the mind is designed to worry about anything and everything. And to blow it out of proportion. No way it all comes to pass. But some things are inevitable. Getting old. Death. They are going to happen. So you can choose to worry about them and they are going to happen regardless. So why worry? Perhaps your worries are about the inevitable? Not sure that counts.

Some great points. And yes, it's true - some of our worries may indeed come to be. But many never do. And the time we spend in that state of suspended "WHAT IFS??" robs us of precious time and life experience. If we can take action, do. If there's nothing we can do at the time, may we embrace a sense of trust that supports us regardless of the outcomes.

There's a quick passage in the bible about some guy who was worried if he had enough grain in his barn for the winter, and died the next day. It's a passing thing sandwiched between other passages. Worry is imagination, you are imagining a thing that doesn't exist (siddharameshwar). Jung's idea about the subconscious is interesting but I think it is not at the root. If you ponder it, no desire... no worry, also no fear. The word for desire in Marathi language also means Poison.... now we are getting closer to the root. Also Christianity is correct when it says Surrender... to god.. and Jesus said at one point "for you can do nothing"...In non duality surrender to the Self .... just some thoughts. And the surrender part is tough but Im hacking away at it.

I like how Jung took many zen buddhist concepts, interpreted through his western education, and offers us crazy westerners a way to think about these concepts and put them into use without thinking they’re practicing religion. If we’ve read the Frankfurt School and Byunch Chul Hanh in the right spirit, these concepts are readily apparent. Read them, create your own rituals, and live an unbound joyful life. Take it from this practicing zen priest, put in effort: establish a meditation practice first, then read these guys, and, whatever you do, don’t think a person lives this without community. Even if you only connect over the computer or at the check-out line, talk with someone regularly. Then branch out

I was once told that a speaker giving a motivational lecture stated that GUILT is a Neurotic Response conditioned into some people by someone who wants Power and Control over them. Someone in the Audience raised his hand and asked, "You mean I should NEVER Feel Guilty About Anything??" The Lecturer then pointed out how GUILT was both manifested and proven in that instant. This gentleman who raised his hand was feeling Guilty about NOT Feeling Guilty.
Compassion, Sorrow, and Regret are not the same as Guilt. They may "seem" similar, but they are very different. Even though Remorse is commonly used interchangeably with Guilt, they too are different.

If you feel guilty it means you’ve been manipulated by someone ( parents, society…), guilt and shame don’t exist in the nature, for the animals for example. They are only used to manipulate/take control over people. Never feel guilty, there’s no reason.

I was once told, "Worry is Interest PAID on an Emotional Debt that may or may not come Due." Being Concerned or Cautious isn't the same as Worry. Worry is like Guilt. Neither are actionable by the person feeling them. They can only be relieved or rectified by an Outside Source such as God or Person of Authority that the Individual feeling worry or guilt gives that Authority to.
Your Child comes home LATE but Safe, "I'm so relieved that your safe. I was WORRIED SICK!!" If they had not come home safe you would have still been worrying. Only Outside action can stop it. In this case the WORRY was interest paid on a calamity that didn't take place. Your child is and was safe. Just late.
Same with Guilt. Unless you get Absolved by an outside source of whatever action or thought caused you to feel Guilty you're stuck in that Negative and Neurotic Mindset.
