    I have 10 years of experience in Linux. If you have expertise in other technologies alongside Linux, such as Ansible, scripting, Unix, or any cloud platforms, your market value significantly increases. With a combination of these skills, you can command a salary of 10 to 15 LPA with just 3 to 5 years of experience. Employers highly value professionals who possess a diverse technical skill set. This combination not only enhances your employability but also opens up more advanced career opportunities.
    And yes, the previous salary does matter.

    Great , it salary depends on companies too , product based or service based etc

    • @EngrAbhishekRoshan
      @EngrAbhishekRoshan  3 месяца назад +1

      Yes, salary can vary significantly depending on the type of company. Product-based companies and service-based companies often have different business models, priorities, and salary structures.
      Product-based companies: These companies create and sell their own products. They often invest heavily in research and development, and they typically offer higher salaries to attract top talent who can innovate and drive the product's success. Examples include tech giants like Google, Microsoft, and Apple.
      Service-based companies: These companies provide services to other businesses or consumers. Their revenue comes from delivering these services, which can range from consulting and software development to customer support and marketing. Salaries in service-based companies can vary widely depending on the industry, the specific services offered, and the market demand. Examples include Accenture, TCS, and Infosys.
      In general, product-based companies might offer higher salaries, especially in technical roles, to compete for highly skilled employees. However, service-based companies can also offer competitive salaries, particularly for specialized roles and experienced professionals. Additionally, other factors such as company size, location, and individual performance also play crucial roles in determining salary.

    do we need to know VMware ? or virtualbox is enough?
    Does linux distro also matter? centos, arc or red hat?

    • @EngrAbhishekRoshan
      @EngrAbhishekRoshan  3 месяца назад

      Whether you need to know VMware or if VirtualBox is enough depends on your specific career goals and the environment you'll be working in.
      VMware vs. VirtualBox:
      VMware: Widely used in enterprise environments for virtualization. Knowing VMware can be crucial if you're aiming for roles in companies that utilize VMware for their virtual infrastructure. It offers robust features, scalability, and is a standard in many large organizations.
      VirtualBox: Great for personal use, testing, and smaller environments. It's open-source and user-friendly, making it a good starting point. However, it might lack some of the advanced features that VMware offers.
      In professional settings, having experience with VMware can give you an edge, especially in roles that involve managing large-scale virtual environments. However, familiarity with VirtualBox is also beneficial, particularly for development and testing purposes.
      Linux Distributions:
      CentOS: Popular in server environments due to its stability and similarity to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Great for learning enterprise-level Linux.
      Red Hat: A leading enterprise Linux distribution. Knowledge of RHEL is highly valued, especially if you plan to work in environments that use commercial support and need robust, certified solutions.
      Arch Linux: Known for its simplicity and flexibility, but it’s more often used by enthusiasts and in environments where cutting-edge software is required. It might not be as common in enterprise settings compared to CentOS or RHEL.
      In many job roles, particularly in larger organizations, experience with Red Hat or CentOS is often preferred because these distributions are widely used in production environments. Arch Linux, while powerful and flexible, is less commonly found in enterprise settings.
      In summary, learning VMware can be advantageous for enterprise roles, while VirtualBox is sufficient for smaller-scale projects and personal use. Regarding Linux distributions, focusing on CentOS or Red Hat will likely be more beneficial for your career, especially if you aim to work in enterprise or server management roles.

      1. Widespread Use of Linux: Linux is a critical component in many industries, including technology, finance, healthcare, and telecommunications. Its reliability, security, and flexibility make it a preferred choice for servers, cloud environments, and various applications.
      2. Growing Demand in Cloud Computing: With the rise of cloud computing platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure, which heavily rely on Linux, there is an increasing need for professionals who can manage, support, and optimize Linux-based systems.
      3. DevOps and Automation: The DevOps movement emphasizes automation, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD), often using Linux-based tools and environments. As a result, skills in Linux are highly valued for roles in DevOps and automation engineering.
      4. Cybersecurity: Linux systems are often used in cybersecurity operations, from running security tools to managing secure environments. As cybersecurity becomes more crucial, the demand for Linux experts in this field also grows.
      5. Open Source Development: The open-source nature of Linux means there is a constant need for support engineers who can troubleshoot and support the myriad of applications and services built on Linux.
      Overall, if you have expertise in Linux systems, your skills are in high demand across various sectors. It's a great time to pursue or continue a career as a Linux application support engineer.
