I was on the line next to center snare in 1995, and that was the first year we did this cadence. Proud to see not much has changed from the original cadence 15 years ago! At the time, Steve, (I forget his last name) the drumline instructor at CU, along with Devin, the center snare, wrote this cadence. It still kicks as much ass now as it did then! It was by far one of the coolest things we played, and I always looked forward to the march into the stadium because of it. Thanks for sharing!
Actually Devin and I wrote about 1/3rd of the cadence in the summer before that year on his computer. The other 2/3rds Steve Yoder lifted from some Drum Corps cadence, Santa Clara or something...
@@scottidler1282 I remember you now! We had a ton of good times together. Baker wakers, party's on the buses going to gmes, and I remember you not making a certain home game on a Saturday morning because of too much fun one night! LOL Hope you're doing well old friend!
@@MCTheWandz PROVE IT! LOL Yeah it was good times. I remembered your name too once I saw it here. I almost sent my daughter to Boulder this year, but too damned expensive out of state (Oregon). But it would be super fun to be in band now with Coach Prime!
Nice observation ! I'm a huge UM fan but now living in Boulder. I love a great Marching Band and especially the drum line. Go Blue and Buffs. I love being so close I hear them practicing on Farrand Field.
If anyone's around the boulder area when the drumline is practicing, come say hi. I used to be the center snare but now i'm part time instructor. Thanks for all your support!
If you'd like I can send you a copy of the music. It's Electric wheelchairish, same kind of rhythms and beats, but electric wheelchair has way harder sticking and takes a lot more chops. Check out the sticking in this one and compare it to a video of electric wheelchair.
So what if it was written in 1996, Electric Wheelchair debuted damn near a decade earlier. The rips are obvious, watering down the sticking doesn't make it less of a rip. The cadence is really cool and the drumline plays fantastically well and THAT is what matters most. My little brother is a freshman at CU, go Buffs drumline!
'who dey, who dey, who dey think they gonna beat them buffaloes' unfortunately created at a time in which the buffs (football) werent as terrible as they are now also, 'go, cu' and 'smokin' are in there
2 things 1. Where can I get this as an mp3 file. 2. There is a chant that the band says to this as they march wat is it, I marched with the buffs once and I just want to hear this cadence while I walk, and remember the chant as a nice memory. Please Help
And you're not a douchebag either :D I suppose Handel's Messiah, Holst's Planets, or Beethoven's 9th should never be played again. Because everyone plays them. Great logic.
Hi Luis, sorry that link expired (like 10 years ago). Here's what I found on the CU drumline 2023 auditions page: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1xPZztrksoeZ6AQQHTbSHOqLGDdMhP-K_
Watching still, its 2019 but wanted to hear more of this

Hey man, do you mind sending it to me as well. This is a well put together cadence
Actually there's a lot of parts that are electric wheelchair-esque. None that are verbatum though.
wow...I will never look at this school the same way
Hey sounds great I'd love to get a score for this, i'll msg you about it.
that was awesome go CU
It has some elements of electric wheelchair SCV
I'm not a fan of college lines but I love this
whoot! go jake! haha
Can i get the score for this too? I love hearing this up at Pearl Street and have wanted to learn it for a long time
GO BUFFS!
Well when you get contracted to instruct a college line, go for it. But it probably won't happen so :)
I mean I would say I agree but when was the last time you heard someone do a Planets show since Cavies 95? Just sayin.
id have to agree lol
shit 4 quads and wat looks like 7 snares damn we got 2 quids and 5 snares .... and those stands damn so much better then ours =/
I don't know, 2:03 sounds a little wheelchairish.
anyone got the sheet music or score for the tenor parts?
maybe, but apparently their drumline is pretty good. lol
Is it possible that i can get the score for this piece? i think it's awesome and i actually am hoping to go to Colorado
Urrrm thats nothing on the "top Secret Drum Corps" of switzerland
