2:27... She nails the whole concept in a nutshell. Just look at how she is pointed and determined when she says we should be talking about human qualities, and then 2 sentences later, when she says, "I think a tender man would be wonderful", you can hear the softness and sincerity in her voice. There was no bull to this woman. It was all common sense and fairness.
Helen is truly one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen! She truly has the voice of an angel and recorded such wonderful pop songs! 25 of the songs she recorded became "hits" because they were Top 40 on the Billboard charts between 1970-1981! I AM WOMAN became her signature song but it was actually her third most successful Top 40 chart hit after ANGIE BABY (her most successful) and DELTA DAWN (her second most successful). She was a real advocate for women's rights in the 1970's and even today. She never stepped on anyone to get ahead she just wanted women to be equal to men. EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK! Her hit I AM WOMAN is definitely a feminist anthem about how women truly can face anything and nowadays even be a man's boss! HEE HEE! NO WAY TO TREAT A LADY and READY OR NOT are definitely my two favorite Helen songs of her 25 Top 40 Billboard chart hits, but all of Helen's songs, even her songs that were considered "hits", are great classics sung by a very classy Australian lady.
She was a deluded zealot. Feminism destroyed the tried and trusted family unit and ushered in fatherless families and welfare dependent single mothers at enormous cost to the taxpayer. She should have been ashamed of herself. These left wing crack pots are tiny, unrepresentative minorities.
....lovely, brief clip, showing Helen's intellect vividly; notice her body language in the 2nd interview; tilted to the side, right shoulder jutting out TO the interviewer, minimal eye-darting, with accusational gaze...she is NOT to be intimidated (3:42)....She is HELEN! Thank You, RRT70s!
RIP HELEN REDDY - An Aussie to be very proud of. 3 US No 1 hits in one yearr!!!!!! If you would like to be reminded of her music career, here is a Playlist - ruclips.net/video/i12PWD9EQvE/видео.html
I've had the same wonderful album ive listened to since I was very little ! ( now burned onto cd, but I can still faintly hear the record turning ) she has helped make me into the person I am today!
I Am Intime ~ Are you for REAL?? We women have every equal right there is out there, and so do the Gays and Blacks. Enough playing the victim card and blaming white men for crap and hold yourself accountable for your ignorance. The real feminist movement ended decades ago because they really were trying to make changes for the better, now it's just an SJW/Woke indoctrination that's turned young folks into nothing but a Cult of virtue signaling douchebags.
Yeah, ditto “Marie Antoinette’s Cake.” This woman was being interviewed in the early 70s when she had a reasonable point, and she articulated it sensibly. Today’s “feminists” are just a bunch of spoiled brats, crybabies, and windmill chasers

Colleen Hewitt was the Queen of Pop from 1972 and 73, before her was Allison Durbin, there were many more including Judy Stone, Debbie Byrne, Olivia Newton John through to Marcia Hines, i don't remember Helen Reddy ever being crowned Queen of Pop in the 70's
That's strange, outside of Olivia Newton John and Marcia Hines, I never heard of the other woman, so therefore when were they "crowned" Queens of anything?
ajhaydenus I believe that this is two Australian TV interviews, possibly the ABC. The first interviewer I think is Sydney based, perhaps he was a TV newsreader at some time? I think I have seen him, but I live in Melbourne 1000km away, the second in possibly the late Paul Barber, maybe that second interview took place in Melbourne. Colour TV was introduced into Australia in March 1975. Hope that helps. Maybe someone else in Australia can help out?
Does anyone have any information about who the interviewer was, the date, or the TV broadcasting channel? I need to cite this source for a research paper! Thanks for helping me out.
Oddly, I was thinking just the opposite, that she sounds determined and intelligent, but not defensive (or mean or preachy). She really was a good spokesperson for the women's movement, because she herself was a good example of how to get her message across without coming off as attacking, militant or defensive.

I find Helen Reddy just fascinating. I grew up in the 70s , listening to her many pop hits.....She's just incredible.
A very talented, successful and truly special lady. She was “Woman” - hear her roar!

RIP SAD NEWS
how was the concert?
hot
Did she have platypuses her shirt in the first clip?
I hate these new captions that rarely state where or when the video was recorded.
She seems pretty angry ,almost defensive with the second interviewer in this clip. Or maybe it's just me... .lol I love Helen Reddy~
